Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    I have a 2.4 diesel transporter
It hasn't been used in 18months so I charged the battery and put fresh diesel in it
Glow plug light comes on and goes off as normal, it turns over but won't fire.
    Any ideas?
Do I need to bleed the system or something 😔

Do you have a multimeter? and if so check the batt voltage whilst cranking. The crank shaft sensor could do with checking also.

Crack an injector nut open and turn it over to check for diesel/let air out.

Just keep turning over and it will fire.

Jump it so you don't drain the battery and keep cranking. It will start eventually :)

    Assuming its IDI...

Suck the diesel through the return of the pump

Crack each injector union at the injector when cranking (try use a crows foot if you can)

When all 5 cylinders are bled through, cycle the glows and start as normal

I can make a vid and upload it if you want, I have a car in a similar condition (not started in ages, IDI etc)

Give it a pull with another vehicle, old ways are best!!! Save the starter campaign.
