Our new house has deeply sloping lawns - well more like rough grass, weeds and wild flowers which we just want to keep roughly cut. Looking at a cordless grass trimmer as the entrance drive is 100m long and don't fancy a petrol trimmer. Anyone recommend such a trimmer, was looking at a Black & Decker 1.8v 28cm trimmer in Woodies at 130 euro and wondering if it was robust enough. Thanks

I don't think a cordless will do what you want to do, you are really looking at a petrol strimmer to do an area that size and with that amount of heavyish cutting.
There are some very lightweight petrol strimmers now and lots of them have a soft start system that makes starting an ease.
something like a 22cc strimmer would be perfect IMO.
I looked at a Maruyama Reverse -start the last day and couldn't believe how light and easy to start it was.

+1 on previous post... You can get a powerful batt strimmer but its heavy due to batt size and they are expensive!!...the standard range are just about ok for a small garden with light trimming...
