Mortgage- Strange situation. Any help appreciated !!

Hi all

I bought a small piece of land abroad and paid full cash. No loan or mortage of any sort. Straight full cash.

Now i am applying for mortgage. One institution says that i didnt take any mortgage or loan before so they will take me as first time buyer.

Another institution said I own a land regardless i paid full cash, I am 2nd time buyer.

Please help me out whom to trust. Mortgage approval is with underwrirer currently.

I think you would be considered a first time buyer expecially if the purchase abroad was just land.
This is your first time to buy here and you can designate this your home. First home. The piece of land would be considered an investment.

I agree you should be treated as a first time buyer.
