Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

The two yellow card rule carrying over throughout the tournament is ridiculous. 2 yellow cards in 5 high stakes games really shouldn't result in a suspension for me. Reset it from the QFs and if they get a yellow in both the QF ans SF, then maybe they deserve a ban from the final too.

Not true: They are reset after the quarter finals.

Pretty good half of football, not a whole lot between these two.

Enjoyable half. It could go either way, although Renato Sanches has been the best player going forward. Portugal have a good weapon off the bench in Quaresma too so I'm hoping they will be enough to get the win.

Ryan Giggs is as dull as Scholes

I know the Polish players don't always have easy to pronounce names....but make a bit of on effort Dixon.

It's still 2 yellows in five games for the suspension for the semis though?

That's fairly standard though. If it was 3 in five games it'd be too lenient. Maybe they should reset it after the last 16. Referees tend to be a bit more lenient in these tournaments.

Anyway been a good game so far. Portugal playing better than they have been and Poland are their usual positive selves.

Really enjoyed the first half. Top game. I have this sneaking feeling that Portugal's name could be on this Euros. Hard to beat, great at just hanging in there and they have Ronaldo.

Yes, definitely toned it down since the first few matches. He's not worst in fairness.

Yes, I think it's good, curbs cynical play.

    Yep, that's his only highlight.

Only gets a game because the manager is his neighbour

Shhh... if the Man Utd thread hears you there'll be 10 pages of arguments.

And yes, he's been very good.

When i was 7 or 8 and in first or second class in primary school i used to throw tantrums and cry when i lost at lunchtime football. It mattered so much. All i could think about the entire morning was the game. As i grew older the desire remained but i quickly learnt not to act like a child when i lost. As we all do. Ronaldo has never lost that vibe. Doesnt matter how many millions are watching. To have that desire still after hundreds and hundreds of gameswith those games becoming ever more serious is unbelievable really. He's phenomenal. Dislikeable but phenomenal.

I remember with Carragher opened Nani's gash .

I can't understand why they don't give Quaresma more of a run out.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,630 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Nice Guy

Poland getting a lot of joy down Portugal's right hand side. I remember reading Portugal fans saying the right-back spot was a problem area for them. We already saw that with Poland's first goal.
