Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Anyone still thinking Jose isn't the man for the job? In a few weeks transfer business like we have never seen before. The club seems a much better place to be judging by what we are seeing players training etc. And united having lost the fear factor look to be getting back to where we belong on top of the pile.

Ladies and gents the mourinho effect

What makes it better again is reading the bitter haters in Facebook so comments read lovely

I hope it works out, and he definitely has all the characteristics and ability to make it work.

I agree the training ground seems more relaxed and players happy but at the same time we aren't even finished our preseason.

Wait and see how events unfold during the season, how we cope with losses and how we play. Don't get the hopes up too much just yet would be my approach.

Quietly optimistic, but aware that managers reigns aren't determined by preseasons but by results. Let's hope we go on and have a great season.

Tbh, all of that was said about LvG when he took over in one form or another. "Oh look, the lads are allowed to eat chips again - we're going to win the league".

Yeah he messed up there, if he had of banned pizza he would have kept his job and we'd be celebrating another title.

Nah Moyes banned chips and that made everyone unhappy; LvG reinstated them and that made everyone think the good times were back for a while. But the real mistake was the failure of either to appoint a chip regulator.

Fergie was a master at the little things like this.

Why are the people on RedCafe so obsessed with Real Madrid as a football club? It's a bit weird.

Then the red carpet at Universal Studios pretending he has a contract and also about a medical.
It is similar to Ibrahimovic, it is getting built up and built up for effect, but the deal is done which is the important thing.

The thing with him this morning was not him pretending to have a medical or a contract he was literally taking the piss out of the press.

The first pic had him arriving at universal studios and the caption was as the press saying breaking news he having a medical at universal studios..

The second pic was of him holding a leaflet and they had caption saying from the press he is holding his contract.

I thought it was nothing more then a piss take of the press more so then teasing fans which is what the press want people to believe.

In other 'news', Simon Jones from the Daily Mail posted a story about Januzaj wanting to leave. Apparently, in a meeting with Jose during the week, Adnan expressed his wish to leave permanently rather than on loan.

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3715908/Adnan-Januzaj-tells-Manchester-United-wants-leave-meeting-Mourinho.html

Daily Mail, pinch of salt, you know yourselves. Just trying to break the Pogboredom because I believe that saga won't be sorted for another long week. With Pogba due to land in Manchester on August 7th, the club won't announce it until they have photos of him in the jersey and signing the contract at Carrington. At best, we'll get confirmation from Juve that Pogba is leaving during the week, with United announcing and making it official next Sunday or Monday.

Many posters in the forum are too young to remember seeing these guys live,be it from the stands or on tv.It's not a cringeworthy statement it's simply a fact.
I've been lucky enough to see some of the best players in the world from the stands in Old Trafford over the last 20 years or so.To say it wasn't a pleasure would be a lie.

Forgot I posted this last night. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't a criticism of you or anyone that uses the phrase. It's more a personal thing and is used that much and always in the same context to convey the same thing that it has lost it's meaning.

Someone accidentally met Pogba wearing ManUtd jersey with Pogba on the back and now someone who met Pogba already had Manutd jerseys and ManUtd footballs.

Must be everyone in LA are roaming with ManUtd jerseys.

This is done deal and everything points to that.

To be honest I don't think a few photos of players laughing in training is evidence of a more harmonious regime or can be used in any way to foresee how things will go during the season.

From my experience results determine the mood and not the opposite.

Obviously results do affect the mood, no one is doubting that.

But based off photos, videos and interviews the atmosphere in the camp is extremely good. It is something that has been widely talked about and even discussed with players.

There's many videos of them enjoying themselves and getting on, and reporters close to the squad like Denis Irwin and Dwight Yorke have all mentioned how good the atmosphere is compared to previous seasons.

So yes results will affect it, and I have said in previous posts many times that I'm aware of this and how it will be interesting to see how the group does this season when a defeat or poor performance comes by.

I'm not suggesting we are going to be unbeatable because of a good squad atmosphere but it is something that's nice and promising to see, I can't see why anyone would think otherwise. And if it is getting to a stage where we can't even take positives away from how the squad harmony seems then it's a sad state of affairs.

I'm not saying it's not good. I'm saying it doesn't really mean anything. Show me an article from a player at any other club in the league where they say the atmosphere is not good. I wonder what Denis Irwin and Dwight Yorke said during LVG's first pre-season?

Really hope we see a good performance today from the boys. The season is just around the corner so some consistency and confidence is needed.

I really shouldn't be sucked into this but I am weak :P

No player with a thread of intelligence is going to publicly complain about the atmosphere if it is bad whle they are at the club, obviously they'll cause a rift. It isn't based on players coming out complaining about atmosphere it's the fact that during Van Gaals preseason there wasn't much talk of the atmosphere from players or pundits alike it was mostly around his record and the preseason results. Remember Van Gaal was publicly criticising the tour for being in America also? Hardly screams happy times to me.

Yorke and Irwin didn't say an awful lot about the atmosphere during preseason either, more so about tactics and preparation. This pre season however it is something that keeps being brought up in interviews.

I can't believe I'm having a debate about squad atmosphere :pac: but to finalise it let's just agree to disagree.

I'm on the side that feels that one thing Mourinho has done (I was also skeptical of his appointment) is he's improved the squad harmony and the players seem to be enjoying themselves, something I hope carries over into the season and helps the team. You take the opinion that it means nothing or that there is no evidence of an improvement of harmony.

This will be my last post on it anyway because I don't feel like filling up the thread with squad harmony debates and then someone will get their hopes up seeing loads of new pages only to be bitterly disappointed there is no Pogba celebratory gifs :pac:

I used wonder what happened players whose specialist position became tactically obsolete but with Rooney in the last few years since he lost his pace it seems like waiting for it to be invented.
