Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Jose must really hate him starting him on first day of the season.. That'll learn him :D;)

Will be interesting to see if that's a 433 with Rooney out wide or a 4231 with Mata out wide. The PL have it as a 433 and the way that is lined up in the tweet looks like a 4231

Not to mention that bloody panic buy Fellaini still somehow stealing minutes eh?

Yeh he is trying to mess with his brain it's like does he want me or not eventually if jose pretends to like him enough mata will get pissed off and leave so jose can't be blamed.

I'm glad he is in the squad, and the team today, away to Bournemouth is going to be a tough physical game and he will be beneficial to us

Mata starts, I feel justified in my arguments that I made during the past few days.
I believe the real reason Mata was dropped by Jose was due to knowing he was leaving for United.

Yeah and he's putting him in the shop window sure. Nobody would ever want to buy him unless Jose pimps him out. Complete luxury player  :;)

On another note - no Micky no party :p

*not starting a Mata debate again.

Ya MEN were reporting that he wasn't in training photos on Friday and was seen with Pogba in Manchester city centre yesterday. Maybe just precaution after he came off in CS last week.

Can't wait for Jose to sub Mata off after the first 30 seconds

    Not tall enough??

Only thing I can imagine is because he didn't get enough minutes last week I'm baffled by that move.

I hope we don't see Mata out wide playing slow sideways football again. Had enough of that last year. Gets the ball, takes 7 or 8 touches and then goes on a backwards curving run toward the centre circle.
Lets hope he's allowed pass it without worrying about possession.

I was only joking ;) Big Fellaini fan here, i think he's solid as a rock at most times for us.

    Also is Darmian injured?

Don't worry, it will be Rooney's fault if that happens.

Valencia will be picked for his ball carrying down the right. Jose is allowing the right side player to drift around based on Jesse in the shield game.

Mata should do well there. I think he was picked over Mkhitaryan as it's an away fixture so wanted the proven in the league player over the new player. Opening league fixture than be tough due to lack of rhythm. Hard situation for too many debuts.

Tbh he looked pretty rusty in the last game he played. I'd say he may be eased in.

Bailly seems to have taken straight to the team and has impressed so was a certainty to start. Zlatan - well he's Zlatan. Was always going to start.

Also Mikhitaryian plays in a position/positions where the team has lots of options.

I'm sure he will be a regular starter as the season progresses. Wouldn't be raising any eyebrows about any player not starting on the opening weekend of the season.

Zlatan is very likeable and speaks very well.

    Loving him at Utd.

Just watched his interview and he just oozes presence & charisma. The last player I saw that had that same effect was the one, the only - Eric The King.

Jose thinking of last season...'it is always good to lose', get out of Chelsea and move to United.

  • Registered Users Posts: 33,754 ✭✭✭✭RobertKK

The general consensus seems to be: Rooney is in trouble.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,370 ✭✭✭✭Son Of A Vidic

It's been a few years since I've been so excited for the start of the season. Hopefully the season ahead will erase the memories of the last three.

So do we have any chance today?

Edit: Sorry habit from the last 3 years

Lack of pace down the spine is a worry with today's line up but I reckon we will rely heavily on Shaw and Valencia bombing forward.

Midfield could be exposed on the counter.

    Graem Souness and Jamie Renknap.

    Cause for concern :pac:

    Says who?

First time the Sky lads openly said it. Normally they are very careful about criticising players that they tend to be pally with.

It's all sunshine & lollipops with me today, I just refuse to worry such things. LVG and his misery is gone and that's all that matters.

Played a peach of a pass to Valencia earlier, that Jones or Smalling wouldn't dream of.

    Oh **** off Rooney
