Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Midfield have been anonymous so far. Thank Christ we have Pogba to bring a bit of energy there.

Rooney must think he's playing for England with the white jersey & sh#te all round play

Mata shows Rooney how to control a ball.

Fellaini has made some fantastic interceptions so far

Fellaini, Herrera and Valencia having a good game so far.

Rooney not doing much but getting in the right places.

Bailly likely to take the head off someone

Oh yes, I forgot the onus is on Rooney to do everything.

    Both midfielders playing well.

Fellaini with the interceptions and Herrera with a few nice passes.

Zlatan looks massive on the telly. We're gonna have some giants if Pogba, Fellaini and Zlatan all play

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,369 ✭✭✭Rossi IRL

Alright wayne, if only your shot at the other end was that powerful......

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,595 ✭✭✭✭Trigger

    What did he do?

He was put thru on the left with a lovely through ball and instead of running on with it he tries to stop it but proceeded to knock the ball to a Bournemouth player.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,414 ✭✭✭Toobz

One thing to take from the game so far is the fear of conceding when the opposition is in our third is completely gone. We now win the ball back and do things with much more intelligence.

Solid but not much up front, please get Rooney off.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,632 ✭✭✭✭Sand

Oh yes, I forgot the onus is on Rooney to do everything.

Bournemouth were in a spell where they were holding the ball in the United midfield and United had to work hard defensively. The ball is eventually won back, played to Rooney who promptly loses it as soon as he touches it.

Nobody is asking him to do everything - controlling and holding the ball for more than 1 second is expected though. And its no surprise that he cant seem to do that.

Carrick coming on at half time.

Either that or he just goes full kit on the bench unlike the rest of the subs.

He's been like that since the start of the match

Yeah, "put through" with just 3 or 4 Bournemouth players ahead of him.

Actually he's done that several times in the game. You should pay more attention.

Great from Mata. Hilarious from a Bournemouth perspective. Two terrible backpasses for the price of one.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,017 ✭✭✭sReq | uTeK

Bournemouth will have to push up now. This will suit us big time

Thats an awful sickner for that Bournemouth player. Double mistake.

Love the commentator calling him Wata.

Wata should have passed it to his right though. Got lucky.

Mata didn't celebrate enough for the goal there I reckon. Definitely bad blood between himself and Mourinho.

    Next game....

    Drop Rooney for Pogba.

Keep Herrera and Fellaini in midfield, play Pogs just infront of them.

They are working well together so far.

    Fellaini great game again
Really think with Pogba in front of him it could be a powerful combo

Typical first game of the season.

Rooney not at the races at all.

    Martial very quiet too.

Big Fell covering alot of ground.

Hopefully see Miki in the second half in place of Rooney.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,690 ✭✭✭ElChe32

Rooney anonymous out there today. Bailly hasn't put a foot wrong and looks a real beast. Big fell has been defensively solid. Shaw a few shakey passes but glad to see him out there. Tony V looks a threat but we need more speed in our attacks.

With the team shaping up to be tall beasts opposition corners are going to be like free counter attacks for us

This will surely jinx the hell out of Bailly but that guy looks seriously good. He looks very strong in a shoulder to shoulder. Gets his hips low and plants his feet.

Wouldn't mind seeing Rashford for Martial and Mkhitaryan for Rooney.

Height is so important, I keep forgetting how tall Pogba is
The fact he has the pace aswell excites the hell out of me
With Fellaini breaking up play and intercepting the added pace will complement it perfectly IMO
