That makes zero sense. To sell a bunch of players like that, you'd have to start the ball rolling at the beginning of the summer.

ball is already in motion and has been for a long time.

I would bet with anyone that at least 3 will be sold.

How long will Ibrahimovic stay, he is signed on for a year so far maybe 1-2 more max. Many of the players listed in the 8 are young with much potential to improve given time.

there is our squad, 23 players and that is not including any of the 8 players i listed for sale. if we didnt sell any of the 8 our squad size would be 31 players!!!

Frankly we all knew what we would get with jose he ain't gonna shy away from saying what he thinks and he was damb right with his response to something to prove if he has somethong to prove what does that say about the others and he may have had a dig at lvg but who cares lvg was the one that tried to lower the expectations to an unacceptable level and belittle fans for demanding more.

If that's their attitude already I can't wait for the real thing to start.

So is it 3 or 8 we are selling? If we sign a CM we sell all of our squad players? Also classing Wilson and Blackett as senior players is laughable. Unless we get a stupid offer for Fellaini he isnt gonna be sold.

Also of the squad Bangkok listed TFM, CBJ, Martial and Rashford dont need to be registered as they are under 21 so instantly frees up 4 squad places. And if you think Jose is going into the season with just Smalling, Bailly and Jones as CBs you really are as crazy as everyone says.

i think we will sell at least 3, maybe a couple more.

If wilson and blackett are training with first team squad they are considered senior players.


Fellaini was nearly sold to Napoli last summer only for an injury to stop tranfer going through

Hopefully this doesn't drag out over the whole summer. Mourinho said he's not going to wait to hopefully that forces a conclusion pretty quickly.

Fosu Mensah can play there as well, im not saying he will sell 8, but the players i listed are the ones from which i think 3 or 4 will be sold. Id say Rojo will not be sold

I was going to post the Marca news too, and then Richard Keys/ Bein Sports believed and out of 10 how likely was it Pogba moves to United, He said 10.

I think Real Madrid are not in a position to buy him and want the news out they are not interested in buying him before the big match tonight.

I was away for the 2nd half of the day yesterday and missed this post.
I was reading up last week about Pogba and Matuidi, last year Matuidi was encouraging Pogba to join him at PSG, the two of them are said to be 'close friends'. Also a Raiola player, but who knows what Jose wants, maybe Schneiderlin or Schweinsteiger is moved on and Matuidi id the replacement?

Seen as Valencia is been classed as a right back by people these days I'd have him sold before varela. He is not in our top two right backs and not top two wingers either.

Varela did well in some games last season but his defending in general is suspect to say the least.

Darmian, Valencia and TFM are more than enough.

He is 23 as well and it's probably the right time for him to find a club he will get game time with.

You say the squad is big enough to lose 8 players, despite the manager saying on Tuesday that he would sign players to replace any that were sold.

You listed 8 players that you implied could/would be sold. And now because of a report from Sky you believe 2 are already gone. Nevermind that one is the fringiest of fringe first team players and the other is potentially the 3rd or 4th choice RB, so seeing as they are definitely 100% gone can you inform who exactly they have signed for?

Have to say I would find it hard to create a 22 man squad from the current United players, plus (for the purpose of the exercise) Pogba. You'd be selling a lot of very useful players - not first team first choice game changers, but players that would be good to have over the course of the season.

I guess you're right but it means the club is perceived to be moving in the right direction at least, a ball hasn't been kicked in anger yet, but the club are doing the right things.

But you're correct obviously, it's a results business.

I agree. The squad is smaller than it should be thanks to LVG. I can't for the life of me see the club selling many players this year.

Only surprise there would be Rojo, and that would be only based on how many centre half options he wants in his final squad. Blind isn't a Mourinho CB or DM, Schweini didn't do anything, and we know they story with Mata.

Jose's "I want specialists" did point to a possible problem for Blind. I do think he could still do well in midfield for Jose based on his performances in his first season.

At Ajax he ended up at left back and left of midfield a midfield three more than central midfield. At United he has played DM, left back and centre back.

What is his specialist position?

Selling Mata is idiotic. Same with Blind. Schweinsteiger is a good squad option to keep around for the Europa League schedule.

He did clarify that you need to have utility players too. he was just stating that the four transfer targets were specialists. and that you need to have 2/3 utility players in the squad

Is he not naturally DM? At one point he was playing DM for United in his first season and was doing the carrick of old role quite well if im not mistaken.

Tbh, I think it's more than him not being a Jose player. I'm not sure he's actually good enough for a side with title aspirations.

Yeh I agree I think he was mostly saying that you wouldn't see any of lvgs wingers at wing back and strikers in midfield and so on.

Selling Blind would be mad, he is a good player and one if the few to survive LVG's reign with his performances staying consistently good (even if not always appreciated).
