Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Pogba hasn't showed up at all

Sanchez was a steal for Bayern

  • Pogba hasn't showed up at all

He's not being played in the correct position IMO

I thought the same is he playing very deep or is it just me.

Playing two deep lying midfielders / sweepers

That's not how to play him

Box to box, he should play dead centre / further forward but France are not set up that way

The system suits Greizmann better IMO

Wouldnt mind seeing Pogba do something...anything at all.

Massively unimpressed with him in these Euros.

Appreciate he's playing deep, but great players play great wherever, and use their own initiative.

is that not the postion he would be playing if he came granted not as deep but would be similar

He's being played very deep. He should be were Sissoko is. That being said, Sissoko is having a stormer so not sure if the manager will change things.

No pogba would play along side someone like carrick that will sit deep. Pogba is more suited to the role renato Sanchez is playing for Portugal.

No he would be played further forward

Considering hes only 18 I'd forgive him on it. Real tempo to his play

I think his best position is at the head of a midfield 3, and not sure he'd play there at United. He's also played alongside far better midfielders at Juventus than he will at United. Pirlo, Vidal, Marchisio and Khedira made him look than he actually is imo as he doesn't need to worry about being disciplined in one position

So if you stuck Zidane, messi or ronaldo in CB they would play great? your logic is flawed.

Deschamps prefers Comon for that role unfortunately

Your comparison is flawed. He isn't playing in goal or at CB, he is a midfielder playing in midfield.

I already think he isn't worth the huge sums quoted, but if he is another Juan Mata who needs to be played in one exact position and who needs everything around him to be perfect before he can perform, then I really don't think he is worth it.

I don't think it's a case of he not performing it's like he has been given a deep lying role to fill and pass the ball around and break up play and he has done most of that grand.

The best pogba runs up and down the pitch gets into the box and on the end of things just on edge of box but he hasn't been in them positions tonight because it looks like it's sishokos role.

Leave pogba out of the equation and look at his argument on its own.

He stated "but great players play great wherever, and use their own initiative".. He should have phrased it differently if he meant it as a midfielder playing in midfield.

Being a WC Full back does not mean you are a WC CB, likewise being a WC AM doesn't mean that you would be a WC CM. or being a WC DM does not mean that you are therefore a WC Box to box CM, different positions call for different traits.

Tbh, I think it's more than him not being a Jose player. I'm not sure he's actually good enough for a side with title aspirations.

Jose likes his players to be strong and fast if your good enough he will let one slide but id struggle to think of any player in his premiership teams who was slow and weak.

Thats why I think Blind and Mata could be for the chop

Then it begs the question are Pogba's traits what United need or could the money be better spent elsewhere.

I don't think it's in doubt that Pogba is a talented boy doing what he does best. It's just a question of how well that fits with what United need.

I don't know but it's a valid question all the same.

I suppose I would trust Mourinho to know what he needs for the way he is going to set up the team. I suppose we will have to wait a couple of weeks to find that out.

only 1 or 2 players who you can say had a good tournament for France other wise they've been quite poor

    True.

Maybe I'm just giving the price tag and the position too much attention but there's a lot of his play and movement I don't think is worth the money for what we need but I'm not the manager nor do I hold the purse strings so I just have trust left...

Very true, but the other players are not being quoted at €100m+

It the market rate for a top tier player, and based on this tournament, when he was supposed to be the main man, he is nowhere close to it.

I don't care what Utd pay for him, my question is whether he is worth buying at all. Italian League is nowhere as competitive as EPL, is he being found out on the big stage?

    Happy with that if true

Pogba shouldn't be commanding a fee similar to Ronaldo & Bale. He's just not that good.

Also wasn't impressed with the dissent shown to teammates after Eders goal.
