Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Once I'm happy the money's all there what's the next step?just hand him the keys and away he goes or what? Sorry for the most likely silly question but it's my first time privately selling

fill in his details on the tax book, get him to sign it and you post it off.

Yes most importantly you post it off, otherwise it will stay in your name and any fines or toll charges will go direct to you.

I don't even know if I have the tax book for it... It's not in the van I'll need to look in the mothers for it

Buyer in unlikely to purchase without the logbook being present, would be crazy if they did as ownership wouldn't be legally transferred to them. Also from your point of view any tolls or fines picked up on the vehicle will go to you until the car is out of your name.

    Don't waste the buyers time.
Call him and tell him you have mislaid the ownership cert and can't do anything till you have found it or replaced it.
Tell him he can come over and look if he wants, but you need to find the book first.
If he is keen to buy it he will come back when you are sorted.
In addition to advise above, straight after he signs the cert take photographs of the completed cert, both sides, and if you can, email the pics to yourself before he drives away. It can take 1 -3 Working days after the cert has arrived in the motor office for the name change on the system.
Someone could rake up a lot of fines and penalties in your name in that amount of time.
