Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hi would anyone know if a July 2007 Ford Mondeo 2 litre diesel (new shape) has a timing chain or belt.
I have heard of a wet belt which is bad news I believe but was told it was only introduced in 2008. Thanks.

Think the wet belt/chain is only in the 1.8TDCi and not the 2.0TDCi

2.0 tdci is a belt requires replacement at 160k or ten years i think but would have to check to be 100%

Thanks for the replies lads appreciate them. Could anyone confirm the set up or what would be the best way of finding out.
Would it be possible to tell from an engine number.
Also any opinion in general on that model mondeo would be good.

What do you mean by " the setup " pm me your reg and ill tell you exact intervals.
That model mondeo is a good car rear trailing arm bushings wear out after about 80k and they are hard enough on rear pads but not much else gives trouble.

The 2.0 TDCi engine used in that model Mondeo is a PSA unit also found in various Peugeot/Citroen and Volvo cars.

Hi thanks for your reply I don't have a reg it's an older relation that's thinking of getting one.
He had a mk 3 for years and he was talking bout an 07 new shape 2 litre diesel.
I had heard of a troublesome and expensive to change wet belt but was told was only from 08 on so that's why I'm asking here

2.0 tdci interval is 200k or ten years.

Ok thanks everyone the concensus seems to be that this model is as reliable as his trusty 2 litre diesel mk 3 was
