    Hi all,

I am filling out a form for a job I will be starting in September and it is asking for a character reference. Specifically, it wants details on a professional person who can provide a character reference. It can't be a spouse/partner, relation, previous employer or anyone associated with my education.

This rules out so many people. I was considering to put down my sister's boyfriend. I've known him for nearly 5 years now, he is not a relation or related to my education in any way.

Any help is greatly appreciated, I can't seem to think of anyone.

A family friend who also has some professional standing, if you can think of someone on those lines.

It doesn't sound like you can't use any good friend of yours who works in a profession. That's what I used when I needed a similar reference.

If you've ever done voluntary work, a reference from someone involved with that could work.

    What's your sister's boyfriend's profession?
