Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    France vs Iceland

    8:00pm Sunday 3rd July
    Stade De France

It's the tournament favourites and host nation taking on everyone's favourite underdog.

France will be without Kante and Rami who are suspended; Iceland have everyone available.

Which team will advance and meet Germany in the semi-final? Can Iceland continue their incredible run?

I would truly love Iceland to get the win tonight but I just feel this might be a step too far. France got a fright in the first half against ourselves and I don't think they will be complacent against Iceland. I reckon 2-0 to France.

Alas Iceland are not facing opposition as flaky as England so it'll be hard, that said if they win enough throw ins against this French back line, anything's possible.

Griezmann starts which is no great surprise.

Think Iceland will do well tonight, but just think France will have just too much for them.

Think both teams will score, but France by goal

    i went for...half time - full time

    France - draw @18/1

what do you reckon? good price?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,573 ✭✭✭pajor

Just saw a piece on the news about people in Reykjavik queuing for 2 hours+ yesterday to buy the team's jersey.

Really hoping for good things for Iceland. Their defence has been so tight, but have a bad feeling the likes of Griezmann can get passed it.

I'd say it'll be very difficult for Iceland if they concede first....then again they came from behind against Portugal and England so who knows.

Weird that Duffer is saying Iceland don't play good football. The second goal against England was a great team move with about 10 passes strung together. If Spain scored a goal like that people would be calling it tika taka.

Even when they were ahead against England they kept attacking. They weren't parking the bus. What exactly is the problem with Iceland's style of play?

Don't think Iceland resort to the long ball as much as Jack...they at least try to string passes together and hit teams on the counter attack. Duffer played under Trapettoni where the style was much more boring than Iceland's.

Indeed. Duff would like to see a team of individuals faff about for 90mins with a single moment of quality from a big name player.

Much more enjoyable watching the likes of Iceland.

If the entire opposing team just stand looking at you even a schoolboy team will score.
2nd goal against England should never have been scored at this level.
I think Iceland will be tested properly tonight, I think France are beatable but will it be Iceland, not sure.

lol.. the fecking tweed jacket on Duffer. He's great though, really likeable guy, with amazing insights and straight talking. Hopefully they'll bring him in to replace Giles when he goes.

If Deschamps puts Sissoko on double yellows before kick off Iceland could be fecked.

I think iceland have a good chance but they need to perform on the next level. Its more likely france get through playing badly by their standard unfortunately.

That's a consequence of having the same starting eleven for the fifth game in a row.
