Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

The Icelandic keeper should have saved that.

Sissoko has done more running in 15 minutes tonight than he has in the last 3 years combined.

    That's the end of that

Jaysus that's a very negative outlook sept. Plenty of time left in this game.

Iceland's keeper has been their one big weak link in this tournament.

It went between his legs, that's just unlucky tbh.

If Iceland can keep it at only 1-0 then ye know yourself anything is possible. I mean just ask Bayern Munich in 1999.

It's a good thing England didn't get through. France would have hammered them.

It's a long way back says Ronnie whelan. Does he mean for Iceland or from France to Ireland ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,240 ✭✭✭✭briany

I was already happy enough with Ireland's performance v. France, but I think I can be happier still given how France are currently dismantling the Icelanders.

They wouldn't do. It was just a bit of a freak of a result they best England. They are very average

The bad news for Iceland is that all of France's goals in the tournament before now have come in the second half. This could become a rout.

Definitely with a few beers. Kind of neutral games I love.

Whatever about the f**kology with the tickets and the favourable scheduling, do the French really need one of their cheerleaders on the PA system as well?

    Nah.

It's Immigrant Song by Led Zeppelin.

Hardly a freak result. They deserved to beat England no question. Nothing freak about it.

Based on how both teams performed in the tournament I wouldn't think so.

Other freak results over the past couple of years:

    Iceland 2 - 1 Austria
    Portugal 1 - 1 Iceland
    Netherlands 0 - 1 Iceland
    Iceland 2 - 1 Czech Republic
    Iceland 2 - 0 Netherlands
    Iceland 3 - 0 Turkey

Giroud has been to the Cristiano Ronaldo School Of Sulking.

Still not at all impressed by the French defence. Their attacks are far more potent than England though and that's the difference imo.
