Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Does I think. Iceland have done remarkably well to get this far, but they are out of their depth now. I'd like to have seen us play France on a rainy night like tonight, rather than a sweltering afternoon. Not saying we'd beat them, but I think we could have run them even closer.

    No. Just no.

So you'd obviously feel that Portugal are also hideously out of their depth, regardless of them being in the semis, given they failed to beat Iceland.

Thats some great thinking you have there

    Not relevant at all

    But great thinking

The aim of the game is to win. You do what you need to do to win. If you play against a better team and try to play retarded attacking football then you will get the results England got in the past 50 years.

That doesn't change the fact it was a dull spectacle last night.

Poor Iceland but as our local coach has said 'you had to win every match to be in the position to lose here today, plenty of other teams didn't get this far'
Iceland have punched above their weight I'm sure they have inspired plenty of young Icelandic kids to kick a ball
Hope France don't score any more though :(

More fun tonight I guess, can really feel the tension in this game.

No to what ? We wouldn't have run them closer ? I think it's possible. I repeat, I'm not saying we'd have beaten them, they are better than us at the end of the day.

They'll always have their wins against Austria and England whatever happens.

Who ? Confused what your point is now. You don't think they are better than us ? Earlier you seemed to be disagreeing that we might have run them closer. ? Maybe it's just me, but you're not making yourself very clear.

no shame to be defeated by this French team.

France had only given up 4 shots on target in the tournament before tonight (2 of those were penalties). Iceland have had 4 so far tonight.

I love to see how the French players are all laughs and smiles, see how much they are sliming when they are walking off after Germany beat them!
