World bike day today so went to venture out for an hour but duly discovered the BB hanging off the training / winter / turbo bike. That gave me all the excuse I needed to go back to the couch!!!

An hour or so for me too , wind was a bloody nuisance. Wasn't a solid head wind, it varied from being little more than a breeze to a full on gust in my face and then decided it wasn't going to assist on the return leg and fecked off all together :mad:

Went down to Wicklow to visit fiancée's mother. Cycled back most of the way instead of getting the train, starting between Rathdrum and Glenealy and took the coastal route as far as Bray and then the N11 and home. 62 kms at 31 kmph in a minute under 2 hours.

Train would've been about 75 mins and then walking to bus, waiting for bus, walking from bus would probably have added another 30-45 mins so I think I made the better choice.

Saturday did a spin from dublin to terryglass on lough derg in co.tipp. 170km in total and averaged 29.5km/hr which I was delighted with. Just a few minutes stopping in tullamore at 100 km and birr at 140km for water/grub on the way.

Yesterday, headed into Gorey to meet up with club, out to ballycanew, Oulart, across to Enniscorthy, Ferns, camolin, Gorey. Just about 80 km, avg 30.5 kph. Used Gorey to home 14km as a cool down, avg 25.6 kph.
All in 94 km.

I just went to Howth yesterday just to stretch the legs and get 50 in. I've taken to going up the Graveyard side and then taking the left for Old Carrickbrack road and going up Windgates. Couple of short sharp ramps there. Got caught in what I can only describe as a mini storm on the way back in

June going on November it feels like. Got absolutely drowned yesterday, and some of my gear was still wet this morning. Even though it was dry I was actually cold cycling in for the most of it. Come on summer, where are yea.

He's one of the best amateurs in the country, it's all fast training rides and races this time of year. Not sure about this year but in previous years I've seen him out motor pacing.

A cracker of a day down south so ploughed through the days work to be be on the bike early for a 2hr training spin.

Left the house at 4.15 and headed towards Clogheen for a few efforts. A glorious evening and not overly spoiled by drivers on this route. As The Vee is covered in rodedendrums on full bloom I knocked out a few efforts on the climb, savage scenery though they tell me this flower is an invasive species that causes all sorts of problems.

70km done @ 32.8 avg with mind and body feeling great after it.

Well my wife would turn on heating. Climb under a Canadian winter blanket. Doubled up. With a hot water bottle and cuppa of scalding tea and still say she were cold. Oh the fire would be lit too
