Ospreys 27-10 Cardiff Blues at HT

Cardiff already looking like a side going to fall away.

39-10 to the Ospreys, with Dan Biggar on the bench.

Cardiff's great start to the season coming apart somewhat.

I forgot the game in Edinburgh was on, took the dog for a walk, could not hear a sound from outside the stadium (even the standard boos). Suprised to see they were winning well.

Glasgow only just beat Zebre there. Would have served them right to lose for putting out such a half arsed side (assuming none of it was injury enforced)

Scarlets v Dragons is great entertainment - lots of running rugby. 14-20 after 37 minutes. It's on S4C.

Leinster v munster, 39 points was the lowest in pro12. Pro12 Averaged about 60 points per game this weekend

I had a bet on which i won, minimum points required in each game... €5 returned 75.
    Leinster 39
    Zebre 45
    Scarlets 43
    Grenoble 50
    Racing 41

Ospreys have lost Hassler for the season with achilles injury and Ardron is out for 6-8 weeks with a thumb injury.

This has probably been mentioned before but the Pro12 should really have an online highlights show every week with maybe the possibility of getting it on free to air tv in each of the four countries over time.

They already put up over twenty minutes of coverage across six different highlights videos, surely it wouldn't require too much investment to add a presenter and maybe two current or ex players (rotating so each club gets represented) and make it into a 45 min/hour show. Done properly it could really strengthen interest in the league.

Since Sky came on board the highlights have been rubbish IMO.

Prior to Sky the Pro12 used to post clips as they happened and post-match they would post 5 minute highlights videos. It was really good. Then last season it turned into 2-3 minute videos, 1 minute of which was a Sky ad. Not so good! There's no reason why you can't have 5-6 minute videos and then the Sky ad.

I finally got around to reading this, its not a very flowing article but interesting to get the Welsh point of view at this time.

Cardiff are the Welsh Saracens, £8m in debt.

Stuart Hogg will remain at Glasgow until 2019. Great news for Glasgow and the Pro12.

Wales and Ireland both booked internationals outside of the test window. IRFU are releasing 16 players from the squad to play this weekend. All 4 teams in Ireland are putting out fairly strong sides this weekend. Wales are releasing feck all. Their beef should really be with the WRU and not Pro12.

Well firstly the WRU and the Pro 12 are closely linked.

And secondly, it's the Pro 12 who scheduled domestic derbies to conflict with international games (and the internationals were announced first). Simon Thomas on twitter is suggesting that they're claiming it was scheduled this way accidentally, I find that hard to believe though.

I assumed the interpros had been arranged for just before the international break to reduce travel time for teams and allow them to be in camps or whatever right up until the last minute. If, for example, Munster had been playing Zebre this weekend you'd probably have to allow a day or so either side of the match where Provincial players are unavailable to the Ireland squad. The way it's organised now everyone can be at Carton house on Saturday evening if necessary.

That was how I was reading it anyway.

The derbies always happen when the Unions decide, twas ever thus. The 'conflict' is 100% intentional and not the fault of the Pro12.

It's just another symptom of how the unions don't really give a f**k about the tournament.

Yeah that's what I'm trying to get at

The Welsh fans are always moaning - about regional teams, about the Pro12, about their own union, about Irish refs. Nothing new here...

Edit to add: With their regional teams so weakened by WRU refusal to release players, they should be thankful they're playing derbies - at least this weekend 2 of their teams should win, whereas if they were playing other teams in the league there would be a good chance of 4 defeats. Even if they were so self-entitled that they thought they should get the Italians this weekend, 2 of their teams would still have to play Scots/Irish teams.

Poor Rory Scholes. Get out of there if you can.

In fairness, he should be ok now that Hodge is the coach. The last few games they've actually looked to use the backs more and more.
The main issue with them though, is, as per the Visser years, a Scottish international winger will almost always start, Hoyland is that guy now.

The pity is Scholes could be an asset to any of the provinces. Hopefully he can get back to Ulster once Bowe and/or Trimble have retired or wind down.

Agreed, it was always a bold call moving over, but the sooner he gets back the better.

Ulster Munster was a pretty poor game. The lack of talent, poor coaching and sloppy errors made it very hard watching.

You get a bit excited about the pro12 and then in the next fixture half the players are rested and all the dregs get a game.

Sad watching Luke Marshall tonight - clearly concussed again. A retirement may be emminent.

Looks like the wheels have well and truly come off for Cardiff. 3 losses in a row.

Maybe a bit harsh but a lot of the players out there are really poor.

    The coaching as well.

True. Unfortunately for us, Keatley at no 10 is one of those. He really smacks of a player completely devoid of confidence. Remember him at Connaught, hardly looks like the same player
