Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I like Ronaldo but I don't like Nani

I was taking the mick out of the poster who said portugal should bring him on at half time even though he was on the ball 3 less times in the first half then Bale.

Yea...was just wondering why the other posters thought he was not on.

Bale is having a good game. He's just doing it all in the centre of the pitch.

Germany must be laughing at all these teams. Its their tournament.

Poor sheep tonight thats who a feel for

I wouldn't say it's all over. A Welsh goal changes the dynamic.

A meteor hitting the pitch does too, almost as likely

I think France will beat Germany.

    So very close from CR7.

Ya seems to be a big Gulf in standard between the two sides of the draw.

Still no execution from a set piece in regulation time from CR7

Alves a bit lucky with that high challenge in the box, any contact and he was off.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,056 ✭✭✭Too Tough To Die

Also, Platini did it in one tournament, (I think) this is Cristianos fourth

Also, Ronaldo has only 3 goals in 14 knock out games in this tournament, that's including a lot of extra time. Sort of takes the gloss off it.

He doesn't do it in the big games they said...

Regardless would have been really great to see Wales in the final :(

Losing Ramsey has had a huge impact IMO regardless of who is better

Only thing that can hamper it is injuries but the standard is well below what is expected in a major tournament so they'd probably be ok

A post that is probably wasted in a match thread. People giving Ronaldo stick need to realise he's not a 24 year old winger playing for Manchester United and tearing teams apart with trickery and runs.

He's a 31 year old striker. His job is to score goals. And he's done that tonight. He's also missed a massive amount of chances through the tournament also.

Van Basten is the reason that Zlatan is the player he is today. He took him aside for Ajax and said, you're a striker. You keep your energy for when it counts, that split second the defender is tired and you take the initiative.

Ronaldo has done that tonight. Great players throughout history can change the dynamic of their game and still be effective. Pirlo dropping deep, that in itself is an art. Look at Wayne Rooney. It's not an easy thing to do.

Some people only rate players that chase the ball like a silly dog

The assistants behind the goals never do anything and when they finally do squeak, it's a mistake.

A goal for Wales in the next 10 mins.....somehow......and it's game on again

I'm in shock, one of those ref statues that stand behind the goal moved.

Wouldn't it be awful if he got another yellow...

    Yes.

    Awful.

    Truly awful.

Without Ramsey, Bale is trying to do about 3 jobs on his own.

    It's ridiculous.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 16,096 ✭✭✭✭the groutch

although it probably deserved a yellow, I hope the ref wasn't actually influenced by the Williams' there.

And a poor German front line. So you don't know really.

That's the beauty of football, you just don't know what's going to happen.

I wouldn't rule out Portugal winning the final either as tactics play a big part.

Can see Wales winning this if they score 3 and Portugal score no more goals.
