Gas cooker tripping RCD

    Question for the regulars here. Friend called me to ask why his gas cooker is tripping the RCD. He sent me a pic and it's a regular combo one piece Electrolux with 4 gas rings, gas grill and gas oven. No problems igniting the rings or grill. All work fine. Press the ignition on the oven and still no problem. But turn the knob to activate the gas and bang....trip, without even pressing the ignition.

    Weird?

    Best guess is it's not the RCD's fault.

    Can you PAT test it with the gas off / switch on?

    Has it a thermocouple paired to a gas valve solenoid?

    FSD's are rarely electrical, most always thermomechanical.
