Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

The Chilcot report published today has given a damning verdict on Tony Blair and George Bush regarding the Iraq war. Findings include that:
    • The UK chose to join the invasion before peaceful options had been exhausted
    • Blair deliberately exaggerated the threat posed by Saddam Hussein
    • George Bush largely ignored UK advice on postwar planning
    • There was no imminent threat from Saddam
    • Britain’s intelligence agencies produced ‘flawed information’
    • The UK military were ill-equipped for the task
    • UK-US relations would not have been harmed if UK stayed out of war

Remember anyone against the war being called "anti-America", Saddam lover and coward at the time turns out the protesters were right.

Blair must surely be facing prosecution for war crimes now.

He might be the only one of the couple cos I doubt that the USA would ever "deliver" any former President to an international court of justice. I still have my doubts on seeing Blair standing in court anyway.

In a perfect world both Blair and Bush would be facing war crimes charges, Alas I fear this will be swept under the proverbial rug and the most we will hear ofrom anyone being punished will be some low level lunky losing their job over bad intelligence.

So many lives water because Bush wanted to please his daddy.

Let not forget Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, Paul Wolfowitz, and Colin Powell, who were equally as responsible for pushing the Iraq War.
Yes, Blair and Bush were the leaders of their respective nations, but many others behind the scenes were just as culpable in the disaster of the Iraq War, and should be made face the consequences of their actions.

The one responsible for all that in the first place and, as the former President Truman has put it, where the bucket stops is G. W. Bush jr.. The others were more or less just following orders from him. He was the one who was that eager to go to war with Iraq to "finish the Job his father has started" twelf years before.

Still, Mr Blair insists on him being right but the Facts one can see when looking into the News and read, hear or see what is going on in Iraq since Blair interfered in 2003 disproves him very much:

    http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-politics-36733979
Tony Blair says the world would be "in a worse position" had he not taken the decision to invade Iraq.

The former PM said despite the "terrible consequences", removing Saddam Hussein "moved with the grain" of what was to come in the region.
    ...

He pays no recognition to the fact that it was even his and Bush´s Intervention in that country that has set up the vacuum that allowed ISIL to thrive and to expand its territory of terror with Syria getting into civil war.

Mr Blair is the worst British PM ever and he cannot see that himself. Typical for myopic people.

Still in denaial and being evasive:

    http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-politics-36734136
Tony Blair: 'People don't believe my regret'

The video runs about a bit more than four minutes.

Can't see him being prosecuted as the Americans won't have it, the British will be delighted to stall it and the UN/ICC hasn't the balls or political will. The ICC being a political tool imo.

John Prescott reveals his guilt at the 'illegal' Iraq War will haunt him for the rest of his life:

"On Wednesday we finally saw the Chilcot Report. It was a damning indictment of how the Blair Government handled the war – and I take my fair share of blame. As the Deputy Prime Minister in that Government I must express my fullest apology, especially to the families of the 179 men and women who gave their lives in the Iraq War."
Not a word in the whole thing about the million or so dead Iraqis.

There is towards the end of the article ...
A day doesn’t go by when I don’t think of the decision we made to go to war. Of the British troops who gave their lives or suffered injuries for their country. Of the 175,000 civilians who died from the Pandora’s Box we opened by removing Saddam Hussein.

    Any source for that figure?
