You can tell Ed finds him extremely irritating.
D&D must do as well as there never seems to be a exchange on the change over with the pair.

This is what comes to mind when listening to Fergal.

ITS THE forced scripted "banter" that really bugs me!

That and when he does the quiz and just tells the listener the score he got and not the correct answers!! Very annoying

I don't get why they don't give Ed Smith or Muireann (if that's correct spelling)a regular/daily show instead of him...just no more prime time slots for Paula MacSweeeney please

She is excellent, surely its just a matter of time before she gets a show

Today we're doing the groundbreaking topic of "member when chocolates were bigger and tasted nicer" christ I wish he would just feck off back to the 80's!

    People love their 'member-berries though.

Can honestly say when I heard Fergals voice in Tuesday afternoon, my heart sunk. 2 weeks of not hearing his inane "banter" was just brilliant.

And now he seems energised after the break and is back to his hyperactive worst. With an overdone culchie accent radio voice.

Fergal is so bad i listen to Joe Duffy and Ray Darcy and then switch back to Matt

I hate the ad he's in for their Dating app/website thing...he tries about 5 different accents in it

I've given up... he's pathetic.... amateur radio.. straight off the bat today he was talking in that stupid accent and then starts to point out his verbal ticks with the number three.... as if anyone really text in asking him that! Someone send him back to wherever he came from!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,039 ✭✭✭✭retro:electro

His stupid voice talking over the beginning of Bitter Sweet Symphony, give me strength. Even Ed said will ya play the bloody song

Is the CEO that seems to hate Foley the same one that hired Ferg? One can only hope he gets the heave ho in the shuffle throw him on weekends or 11-1 at night or something

Yeah I think he is. I switch over to Spotify now at 2:30pm. I'm sure there's a lot of others who do the same

I've been listening to podcasts and anything else I can get my hands on from 9am - 12pm. Then Today FM from 12pm - 2:30pm and Spotify from 2:30pm onwards. I use to have Today FM on from 9am - 7pm

I wouldn't mind but when you see him out and about. I'm pretty sure he thinks he's a rock star. Rather than a glorified local radio DJ.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,695 ✭✭✭flangemeistro

It pains me to say this guys and I'll fully understand if I get banned from this thread or the radio forum or the whole of boards if needs be.

I've been trying to build up the courage to come out and say this and I really hope everyone can support me in my life choices and not judge me on this one decision that I decided to make.

OK here it goes, Fergal D'Arcy has become so unbearable and has abused my ears so badly that I've started listening to Ray Darcy on Radio One.

OK there it is, I've put it out there in the public domain, and it feels like a colossal weight has been lifted off my chest.

    Hopefully people will be understanding.

I thought you were building up to saying you are beginning to find him entertaining.

He seems like that guy who tries really too hard to be seen as 'cool'

Just flicked him on there he was introducing a Paulo Nutini song and said I have yet to hear him sing two songs in the same voice :D A bit like his DJ voice then ?

The move to 2fm more than justified.

Tracey is Palying "want you in my soul" by Lovebirds.

Anyone who knows their house music should know this is an absolutely amazing tune.

    Followed by Fish go Deep!
The over lap from fish go deep to Daithi with galloping horses let's her down...

Having heard Lovebirds by surprise I am happy with whatever for a while.

One of my favourite tunes of the last few years :)

Hearing Cure straight after made my smile bigger.

    OMG.
He's going on again about phrases that Irish people use.
This is such a worn out topic at this stage.

Serious lack of content on the show. They've even started repeating the stupid names they call each other before the quiz.

Muireann needs to replace Fergal permanently. The whole atmosphere in the studio is more relaxed when he's not there

Reminds me of a quote from Alan Partridge's book:

"Graham was too cool for school (though he did still attend)" :D
