Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

It's all about the final 3rd.

It doesn't matter how much you pass, pivot, double pivot, make angles, switch play, hit 60 yard diagonals etc etc etc.

If you don't have it in the final 3rd, nothing matters.

Yes, do practically nothing for vast majority of the game, shake your leg a bit, play a decent lofted cross into the box. 100 million. Kroos has been twice, three times the player Pogba has been tonight.

France in ways have been lucky while Germany have been unlucky.

    How?

The first goal was a definite penalty, and the second was shít play by Germany.

I don't remember Lloris making a save of note.

    Nothing to do with luck.

Just because a team plays good football doesn't mean they're unlucky when they lose.

Germany's best players are in the middle of the park in Kroos, Schweinsteiger and Ozil.

France''s best players have been at the business ends of the pitch in either box in the form of Umtiti and Griezmann.

That is where this is being won and lost. Simple as that.

They scored a penalty arising from a non threatening cross and from a calamity of errors. Two years ago the majority of this German team were scoring 7 goals against Brazil. They do have a problem with strikers but not as simple as France being much more potent. I actually don't think they attacked very well at all.

I hope Portugal win in the most cynical way possible. Can't stand the French team or their fickle fans.

You're mixing up the fans in Marseille with those from Paris. Parisiens notably fickle. Less so the rest of France.

    Did I mention Pogba? No.

In fact I praised Kroos' performance on the German side.

    Jog on.

Deschamps got his tactics and team selection wrong tonight. France have been much better in the second half, and to be fair to him perhaps he is responsible for that, but I think Fernando Santos can find a winning gameplan for Sunday.

First half to deny Draxler(I think) Lloris got down to his bottom right, cracking save.

Agree with what you said though.

Özil must think he's back at Arsenal - all these chances and no one finishing them!

We're stuffed. And only ourselves to blame. :( We had the beating of them today, but if you can't score...

No way should Sissoko stay at Newcastle

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 18,299 ✭✭✭✭The Backwards Man

Wouldn't be hard for Sissoko to play well, he's been resting all season

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 51,342 ✭✭✭✭That_Guy

No wonder Sissoko looks fresh. He took the whole bloody season off last year. *shakes fist*

Do you even watch la liga? Griezmann was way better with players of a lesser quality playing with him.

Ronaldo scored 36 goals in 35 La Liga games. Top scorer in Champions League, which he also won. I watch plenty of La Liga. Ronaldo had a better season.

No way should Sissoko stay at Newcastle

He's a weird player. On his day (like today) he looks unreal.
Goes missing far too easily and is one of the laziest players to wear a Newcastle jersey for a long time and that's saying something given the truckloads of shíte we've had at the club.

Playing when it suits to get a move away.

They've not been brilliant, but they've been better than the Germans in both boxes. Comfortably.

Guardiola's influence preventing Germany from getting further than the semi-final in European competition.

There's middle aged accountants across the country crying at the fact that they talked Germany up bigtime when the get them in the office draw and will go into work looking like mongs tomorrow.

About 6 or 7 of those were against the likes of getafe, griezmann not only scores but does everything.
