Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

What the fcuk is this nonsense obsession with them only winning 1 game in 90 minutes? It's a 120 minute game and a win in 91-120 is as completely valid as any other.
It's a 1-0 win for the record books, coefficients, world rankings etc.

People get awful salty over Ronaldo being successful.

An odd game. I kinda wanted both teams to win.

Delighted to see Ronaldo lifting the cup, though.

Dunphy is philosophising, look out everyone!

The bitterness and trolling on both sides doesn't cease to amaze me. It's bloody another United-Liverpool thing regardless of the discussion. Forum is getting worse.

Anyways, delighted for Ronaldo. One of the greatest ever and i honestly never seen him winning a major international trophy after Portugal messed up in 2004 so happy he can get one. Very poor game though and I can't remember the last decent international final. Maybe 2006. Everyone is just too afraid to make a mistake these days. The finals are really getting worse.

Really wanted France to win, and especially against Portugal.

But when Ronaldo had to come off and I saw the way Portugal adapted to playing without him, by sheer strength of will and organisation I can't help but feel not too sad that they won.

But the game itself kinda resembled the entire tournament imo. Next one back to the old format please.

Without Ronaldo they wouldn't have even got to the final, he'll they wouldn't have got out of the group stage.

People will still put Ronaldo down. Give it up for Christ's sake

Was a similar story 2 years ago with another high profile player iirc, despite a Golden boot!

You have to feel for Griezmann, losing two major finals back to back after having a great season and tournament, but missed chances in both finals which may haunt him.

Fantastic player, hopefully he comes back stronger next season.

I've no side on the United Liverpool argument anyway. I just love Ronaldo and it is beautiful to see him get this after all the abuse he gets on here and just in general really. Champions League and Euro 2016 all in one year equals Ballon D'or assured.

Well done Portugal. I honestly thought they were gone when I seen Ronaldo go off, but they came out with a great performance in the extra time.

No it's not you could have put money on him taking down Eder if he hadn't received that yellow a minute before the goal.

However France should have put the Portuguese away before that happened and they didn't so they paid the price.

Not the same thing. Winning on penalties go down in the history books as a draw for both nations. Tonights result will go down as a victory for Portugal.
    Actually, no, its a draw.
Go to the bookies and try getting paid out on a Portugal win, as opposed to a "Portugal lifting the trophy".
