Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

With Coutinho out is that Cans place fairly solid?

I think Henderson, Can and Lallana are the 3 in the middle.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,205 ✭✭✭Lucas Hood

Might push Lallana further forward now and play Can, Henderson & Wijnaldum In Midfield.

    I don't think so. It's 3 of that 4 in the middle.

Firmino and Mane with maybe Origi or Milner in the front 3 with Moreno coming back in at left back. A good few options but I don't think he'll move Lallana out wide.

Assuming Lallana is back and one of Sturridge/Origi play he and Gigi could be fighting/sharing for the spot. I think he's a safer pick than the strikers especially as 5th mid in 3-5-2. Rotation/rest will be a fact of life for most teams over xmas.

The Brazil playmaker underwent a scan on Monday afternoon on the ankle injury he sustained against Sunderland to determine the extent of the issue and is now set to be sidelined until the New Year.

The manager told BBC Radio 5 Live: “Phil needs between five and a few weeks until we have him back. We will see. He is not in for tonight and for the next few games.”

Asked for the thinking behind making eight changes for the EFL Cup clash with Leeds United, Klopp added: “Roberto [Firmino] couldn’t play.

“The same with Joel Matip and a few other players had all the games until now – we can bring in fresh legs, especially in defence.

“In attack, we have not that number of options anymore but I’m fine with the options we have. So we start with this line-up, we have a strong bench and we want to go to the semis.”

Anyone with mbokani in their team.....he was just sent off in the league cup but that's the least of your problems if you willingly put mbokani in your team!

Santi Cazorla is travelling to Sweden early next week to undergo surgery to his right ankle.
The club’s medical team and specialists have decided that surgery is required to the plantaris tendon in the Spain international's right foot.
The problem has not progressed during a rehabilitation programme following the injury during the home match with Ludogorets on October 19.
We expect Santi’s full recovery to take approximately three months.
Everyone at the club will be working hard with Santi to make sure he’s back on the pitch as soon as possible.

I heard the real source of his injury was from throwing the wrong sack over his shoulder.

Sturridge out firmino "should " be ok
Giroud most likely out but ok for Tuesday
Rondon has tonsilitis but could be ok.......

Very frustrating...I could really have done with him starting this week. Now I have a choice of starting Holebas (wba), Smith (liv) or taking a hit to bring in Pieters.

I think Holebas makes most sense.

Feic sake, thought he'd be out for 1 week..been like 6 weeks now. I'll give him another week

Are we likely to get an update on Tom Heaton today? My transfer is very much dependent on knowing if he'll play or not.

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

Tonsillitis for Rondon? He'd hardly play tomorrow, will he?
I'm itching to pull the trigger on Defoe for him.

Very annoying and unlucky re Cameron. He was originally only a doubt for one game and its ended up stretching out one week at a time. If he'd been ruled out for 4 or 5 weeks changing him for a hit would certainly have left me for one up points.

I will have to play Holebas, who I reckon has a 2 point ceiling, probably 1 given hes getting a yellow every bloody week.

Following on from something in another thread, what is the story with Phil Jones? Smalling's toe and Bailly's ankle are due to be recovered mid Dec according to premierinjuries.com Both listed as 25% on FPL site.

It therefore seems likely that one or both of them will be back before Xmas? And if so will Jones keep his place? I'd imagine Rojo will be first for the chop so both injured players need to be back to oust Jones?

And of course Jones will probably be injured himself shortly!

    Steer clear isn't it??!! :(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,969 ✭✭✭✭alchemist33

Rojo should be first out but given Jose's comments about Smalling, I don't think it's definite he'd come in for Jones. He's a gamble but it may be worth it.

If he was likely to play GW16 to 23 at 4.7m with those fixtures....

Swapped lukaku for Kane and made him captain. I wish I had moved out vardy what has happened to him and leicster.

Thankfully Costa and Kane came good.

Would really love some clarity on Costa before price deadline.

Even being very tired is a slight worry. How's this tiredness going to improve over the Christmas period?

It's ok, he'll get his 5th yellow and give himself a rest game ;)
