Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Is Grant ok to play gw20 vs Watford as per the terms of the loan deal?

    I believe so: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-4060290/Stoke-intensify-efforts-sign-Lee-Grant-permanently-Jack-Butland-ankle-surgery.html
"Hughes admitted he must act quick to resolve Grant’s situation, with his loan deal elapsing after Stoke play Watford on January 3."

Jordan Pickford looks set to miss months, although the full extent of his injury won't be known until he meets with a knee specialist. #SAFC

Ah feck. Not a transfer I thought I'd have to make, nor is it a priority. Will see what happens Grant & his loan move before doing anything.

Mustafi and Akpom have returned to full training, along with Danny Welbeck. But Walcott and Ox-Chamberlain were NOT with the main group #AFC

Disaster. Looks like it's Tom "the legend" Heaton for the rest of the season so.
Can't be splashing out when I've an Aguero to somehow fit in with Costa, Zlatan and Sanchez.

Any other budget keepers about bar him and grant?

Mannone is 4.3. Assume he'll come in for pickford if they don't sign another keeper.

    From the Beeb
Liverpool's Philippe Coutinho will not return from an ankle injury in time to face Manchester City on New Year's Eve, boss Jurgen Klopp has confirmed.

The Brazil playmaker, 24, has missed six games with an injury picked up in November's win over Sunderland.

"The City game is too early and I'm pretty sure the Sunderland match on Monday is too early too," Klopp said.

The Reds manager also confirmed that defender Joel Matip will miss the City game with an ankle injury

Pickford out for six weeks too

The Palace game will probably come too soon for Theo Walcott [calf] but Danny Welbeck is doing well "so we have plenty of options." #AFC

Alonso has an ankle injury and is a doubt for Wednesday.

F**k sake!! That's Holebas off the bench then for him. Probably best to wait for more news before transferring him out

Any real clarity on Alonso - like the source or what happened or when it happened ?

Thanks dude. No idea why I couldn't find that as I follow Dinnery too.

It was in a conversation with one of the FFS guys who I also follow. Alonso had something on instagram. Dinnery made inquiries. He is receiving treatment but no indication of severity.

Unless you want rid anyhow id hold. Not that great a chance of a CS amd I've Cedric to come in who would be a close call to start anyhow.

I'd hold regardless but I've nobody to come in so I would have considered upgrading my bench.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,962 ✭✭✭Hogey007

Jeff Stelling said the Sturridge injury could be serious.

I'd hold off getting rid of origi if I had him.

Claude Puel confirms the head wound sustained by Cedric Soares after crashing into an advertising hoarding is "not a big injury". #SaintsFC

I'll be holding Cedric. A lot of over reaction to him, and he's been an awful unlucky player to own.

He got a virus and unexpectedly missed 2 clean sheets. He came back them Puel went rotation crazy coming into Xmas. However Betrand was also rested twice and none of the ranting and raving about that.

Cedric comes back in and promptly splits himself on a hoarding!!

Based on the season overall Cedric is clear first choice. Puels rotation combined with very unfortunate fixture scheduling backfired, with them suddenly losing and conceding in three on the trot. Back to one league game a week after this and some decent fixtures in a normally good defence. Not much better at the price still imo.

If he drops to 4.8 I may consider him over Jones
I want my defenders to offer some attacking threat
And it's fair to say Jones does not !

    Oh wait he did drop
    Interesting

He has EFL Cup semifinal matches which probably means Martina will start a league fixture or two. Also the possibility of FA Cup replays or them advancing to 4th round which is right before a midweek PL fixture

I know that. Thats why I said one League game a week. Why wouldnt Martina just play the cups? He didn't play a single league game until the illness / Christmas resting.

Depends if Puel rates the EFL Cup, but as their league campaign is stuttering I'm sure the supporters would like a trip to Wembley and chance of trophy. He changed his lineup selection for the last Europa League match putting the starters back, wouldn't be surprised to see the same against Liverpool. Norwich in FA Cup will see a backup side, I'd think.

    Ah yes this is true
Not risking him for 4.8 now when I can just keep Jones or go cheaper again

Will be having a look at the fixtures, and depending on my plans going forward I'll either be keeping or upgrading to another Premium.

I'd agree with Ziegler they have a great chance of getting to a final. So you could see the first choice eleven in Carling cup. Its put me off jrod

I'd be very very surprised if he doesn't play his best team possible against Liverpool in the EFL Cup. It's a semi-final.

Bolasie may not play again until 2018 "It will be around 11-12 months. That's a big disappointment but he will come back," Koeman said. #EFC

Brunt yellow flagged due to a knock.

Have him nominally benched for the Spurs game at the minute but hopefully nothing too serious

Benteke expected to be fit for next weekend too. Interesting to see how those 2 fit together. Palace have great fixtures ahead.

    Big man little man
    Big sams dream
Interesting option but prob too soon to have him in my WC team even though he would allow a savage midfield and money for coutinho instead of Lallana

Hull City striker Abel Hernandez is available for selection again for Saturday's FA Cup tie with Swansea.

He should take Diomande's place and may take pens off Snodgrass.

I'd say he is only talking about the two cup games. He isn't going to start rotating CBS every league game.

He was talking about all games while Bailly is away. Sounds like he will rotate Blind, Rojo and Jones.

We will see . I can't see him rotating CBS in Pl games . He is going to pick his strongest team for all the PL games .
