Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

NO WAY he plays both games now

Your holding off for news today was certainly the clever move.
So annoyed I went a day early but there was a .3 swing with aguero & sterling rising & Costa dropping. Alli was close to a drop too but didn't effect my resale.
And I had just the exact amount to do sterling to firmino next week.

Its not a big deal, just don't treble captain him.

@ossama_kk I'm deleting the response as people seem to be reading too much into it. Fully expect Aguero to start

    What people? :pac:

Is there a quadruple captain option?

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

#thfc Just been handed team news. Kane, Alderweireld & Vertonghen are "progressing well and will be assessed after final training session".

Conte on Hazard: "A little problem for Eden but I think nothing serious. He got a kick in training. Who kicked him? I don’t remember!"

He didn't mention anything about an injury. That's good.

That whole thing stinks of Twitter trolling. The only place I saw a quote was on one of those pics stuck under an image of Pep tweets. Which usually equals a made up quote.

Ben Dinnery didn't know anything but gave it some oxygen and it turned into a mini panic.

Don't take notice of Dinnerys opinions just use him for finding news on players as hes good at tracking down quotes from managers.

The popularity he's achieved is mind boggling.

I had a feeling Hazard was going to have a big GW and this only confirms it... a little worry only makes it sweeter :)

If they saw a deliberate elbow and didn't even give a yellow that's something else

I guess the fact that Ibra had his back to the linesman it could have looked like a flailing elbow
    Which it was not !

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,962 ✭✭✭Hogey007

Hard to know, ref had a long chat to him. What was he talking about if he didn't see it? As carragher said, looks like he just bottled it.
But may not be able to say he "never seen it"

Mings hasn't a leg to stand on. Much like alli in europa league I think for incidents like that a 10 match ban should be minimum. That's assault, not a bad tackle, to stamp down on someone's head! Despicable!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,969 ✭✭✭✭alchemist33

I think the ref will have to report he didn't see the elbow because seeing it and not calling it would make him out to be completely inept. They'll likely say they didnt have a clear view.

He'll have to explain what he spent a good 30 seconds talking to ibra about so.
Either way, I think he may be "relieved of" premier league duties for next round of matches.

I'll be stuck with aguero for a couple of games if that happens.

Patrick van Aanholt could miss up-to three weeks after he was forced off with an injury: "He twisted it. Ankle ligaments." #CPFC

Defence is in rag order now with chambers injured for another month
    And brunts fixtures turning soon

Kyle Naughton to be assessed after coming off with a hamstring problem.

Can't see Ibra surviving it. As has been said by others, the ref ain't gonna be able to say he saw him elbow the lad in the head but take no action. It's a loophole that only really benefits the offender when they get booked for what they did and the situation is seen to have been dealt with.

    Certain ban I'd say.

    The linesman saw it
But he saw it from behind so may not have looked as intentional
The linesman called the refs attention to it and the ref then gave ibra a talking to.

So if the officials say they didn't see it but talked to him about it then what ........

I'm fairly confident the referee's report isn't going to say the linesman informed him that Ibra elbowed him in the head. That would be an awkward conversation indeed.

The ref pointed to his ear piece when calling ibra over

That can in theory mean any of a number of things. He isn't going to put on his referee's report that the linesman told him Ibra elbowed your man in the head but he decided not to take any action, even if that is true.

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,672 ✭✭✭ScummyMan

It looked to me like Ibra and the ref had a long chat, and Zlatan decided that he shouldn't be sent off :P

He could say that he saw the elbow to head but deemed it accidental
    That's the way it works
    Seen and dealt with
    Even if incorrectly
We will know soon anyway and may sell him either way
He is getting annoying to own

I reckon if that conversation went on another 30 seconds or so, the ref would have ended up sending himself off.

    Any word on Phillips?

I think theres a good chance he will. Pulis was eager to have him back last GW and they were very poor so there will be changes this week. Think Brunt might be pushed back into defence though

Bournemouth intend to challenge the suggestion of an increased suspension for Mings..

    http://www.eveningecho.ie/sport/national-sport/zlatan-ibrahimovic-and-tyrone-mings-have-until-6pm-to-respond-to-fa-charges/2643818/

Personally I don't think he meant the stamp.
In a court of law he'd be given the benefit of the doubt.
So is the best Mings can hope for a three game ban?

I have zero doubt he meant it and hope they throw the book at him.
He was well aware there was someone lying there, you can see him stamp rather than try to just land and the real tell tale sign he meant it was his facial expression didn't change. Meaning he knew impact was coming, if you'd "accidentily" stepped on a person's head (especially with football boots on) you'd immediately show concern/shock/surprise. He didn't and I'd love to see him get 8-10 games but suspect it'll be 5 or 6.

Opinions will differ but proving it was intentional is another matter.
Is a deliberate premeditated (given it's revenge for a perceived stamp) elbow any less violent?
