    I want a holodeck

    You're crazy.

All the holo-characters will attempt to kill you.

Whatever powers the hologrid will threaten to explode for any random reason.

If you step onto the holodeck how do you REALLY know you will end up back in the real world and not a simulation?

As far as we know it's only the cheap mass produced Federation holodecks that do that. What you'd really want is a nice bespoke Ferengi holosuite.

But you might run into Vic Fontaine on DS9, I'd rather take my chances on the TNGs death machine

But if I had my own Ferengi holosuite why would I run Vic's if I didn't like it?

You would have to write your own programes then :P

DS9 did start shoehorning Vic in a few episodes

If you had a holodeck what you REALLY do? (keep it clean)

I could buy them or my friend could send me his own slightly copyright infringing holonovels.

    I don't really mind Vic.

Kepping it clean, Gundam/starfighter simulators, or some kind of RPG (which is what holonovels are, I suppose)

Vic was cool, had a bit of old school class about him.

Im not sure i could keep it clean. Definitely interesting moral and ethical debate though on holodeck porn, etc

If it were to be clean, id use it to create some current games. Like Mass Effect, that be a great holo novel.

Skipping a Garak heavy episode, for shame.

I've seen DS9 the whole way through about ten times, and read every episode article on Memory Alpha (the other Star Trek series too), and I double check the title if I'm not sure.

    Dukat?

The House of Mogh's lands and titles were seized in TNG's Redemption, Kurn wasn't out as Worf's brother at the time. Kurn's parentage came out some time after and when Worf refused to help Gowron with his little trip to Cardassia, and then actively worked against him, Kurn's house was stripped of its lands and titles by Gowron as revenge.

Kurn was outed as a son of Mogh in TNG as Worf's powerplay involved all tge ships under Kurn's command in the Redemption 2 parter, where the Duras family are bankrolled by Sela and the Romulans

You're right. I was mixing Redemption up with Sins of the Father.

That was an awful resolution to the story and a terrible ending for the character IMO.

Who was Worf to make that decision.. I know he was the "older brother" but he pick and mixed from Klingon society and culture as it suited him, whereas Kurn lived and breathed it - good or bad (remember, he was nearly killed by Duras's goons because he wouldn't betray his brother as well)

The writers really dropped the ball with Kurn :(

Finished 'Field of Fire', and Ezri really isn't sitting with me at all; it's the combination of her irritating, nervous-worrier personality, coupled with that awful line of psychobabble TNG era Trek frequently indulged in. Her 'therapy' for treating the PTSD suffering Nog during 'It's Only a Paper Moon' was particularly egregious, if not negligent.

Just stop before the final episode...that way, DS9 never ends, & they're all out there on the station right now going about their business :o

Not only that but you had Dr Bashir performing an operation without any permission of the patient. It didn't feel like the DS9 crew were saving Kurn's life, it felt more like they were getting rid of a problem they didn't know how to resolve.

And to think he was just a future Jake Sisko in cosplay.

I'm mid-way through season 2 and TBH, it's largely as I remember it: a poor relation to TNG with less interesting characters. I think Odo and Qwark are about about the highlights for me. Bashir is painful, Sisqo entirely unbelievable (might just be the actor, I'm finding him quite weak for the "captain" role), Kiera has her moments but the Bajorans in general are irritating... Dax? interesting concept but weak actress...

I'm looking forward to some of the later episodes that you all rave about!
