I see work has started on splitting the old homebase unit into two units.

From a local property person it seems Dealz is negotiating one unit and Sports Direct is likely for the other. At the same time Sports Direct are looking for a manager for a new store in Killarney.

A new gym is also about to open over Costa

Sports Direct would be pretty cool, can be a bit annoying trying to get to the sports shop in town at times. Interesting place for a gym, should do quite well if they promote it effectively.

Dont think its Sports Direct. They are the owners of Heatons and most of the Heaton Stock is being cleared. AFAIK Sportsworld is to be rebranded and given 2 Floors with the Ground Floor to be a Fashion Shop USC which is similar to DV8 www.usc.co.uk Staff are now wearing Sports Direct uniforms and all the software has been upgraded to Sports Direct over the last 6 months.

All are owned by Mike Ashley (Newcastle Utd) so only zero hour contracts apart from Managers.

It has also been siad that River Island had a Management Team look at Deerpark but footfall was questioned

Then that could mean Heatons transferring to Deerpark - which would make better sense.

Heatons is in the process of being wound down.. Major Sale ATM

While it is currently trading it will not be known as Heatons in 12 months time

They may be closing their town centre store and relocating to Deerpark which would be the reason to have a sale (they are always in sale anyway). Their preference is for out of town sites and within commercial property circles it is Sports Direct that have agreed terms on Deerpark, but as Sports Direct is the name of the parent company of Heatons, and based on posts above, it looks like it will be heatons relocating into Deerpark

they were bought out by Sports Direct, so not closing down. They are just clearing old stock.

to be pedantic - Sport Direct had owned 50% of Heatons for years and bought out the remaining 50% earlier this year, hence there was no change noticed by consumers.
