Job on a Cargo Vessel - No Experience

Is there anyone on here who has managed to get a contract on a cargo vessel with absolutely no experience?

I despise my café job right now and I'd love to get a job on a ship (doing anything) and **** off on a voyage for a few weeks before I go back to college in September

This is just a mad idea I had today. But realistically if I was given the opportunity, I'd pack my bags and head to Dublin Port straight away.

Is this realistic? I have literally no knowledge of the industry, so hoping someone can give me some info.

If it's a job at sea you want for the summer a quicker option would be on a trawler, a Safety Training Card would be enough for an entry level roll, course is 3 days and costs €150, run in various places around the country by BIM...
