Yes, going back this year for the 4th time. Best siblu site there is. Kids love it. Best pitches would be in the circles, if you have a map of the site. Very spacious, with mostly private pitches.

Its a very good site but after visiting la carabasse, les charmettes lacks a big pool for kids age 6-10 to play comfortably. Les charmettes weather is unpredictable thats why we went south.

Any recommendations for a good family friendly campsite in the Loire?
    Thinking somewhere near Saumur maybe?

Domaine de la Brèche in Saumur is supposed to be great. We're staying there as a stopover this year.

    https://www.eurocamp.ie/campsites/loire/lr013-domaine-de-la-breche/ataglance.html

Further east, Château des Marais is excellent - we've stayed there loads of times. Both Canvas and Eurocamp have offerings there

Best camp for a 4 and 6 year old. Any area. First timers. Fly over and hire a car.

La Sirene. Beautiful camp that the kids will love. Very safe, with lots to do, and everything on site so you don't have to travel around, or even leave the site at all for that matter

    +1

If you're flying and have young children, La Sirene is up there with the best.

+1 for Domain de la Breche - we were there a few years ago and it's a really nice site.

Also stayed in Les Alicourts last yr https://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviews-g1142498-d1893663-r591972643-Les_Alicourts_Resort-Pierrefitte_sur_Sauldre_Loir_et_Cher_Centre_Val_de_Loire.html

Both rural but very good sites..

Countless sites will suit a 4 and 6 yr old.

I've only been to 2, and I would imagine both of those would be suitable. So I'm guessing most others would be suitable too.

Maybe you should prioritise factors such as kids club, pools, beaches and distance from airport? Last thing you want is a lovely site that's 2hrs transfer once you arrive.

Le soliel trumps it by virtue of being right on the beach and that little bit smaller. Popped into siriene for a look last year and it was just manic. Too many Irish, Too much traffic and too many scooters!

WB Yeats has been sprung into service today unannounced, and is on the Dublin to Holyhead route till just before Paddy's weekend from which it scheduled to do the Cherbourg run till Autumn, so starting just in time for Brexit armegeddon (Brexi-geddon???) 2 weeks later.

Hope they didn’t damage it too much, it hit the ramp in Holyhead today :(

We stayed twice at the Yelloh Village in Lorient, Morbihan.
It was enjoyable, loads of kids for our ones to play with. Lots of organised things to do, even a little "cinema" that holds about 30 kids.
We were in a little VW camper, do don't know what the mobile homes were like.

But if you Google "camping finistere" or "camping Bretage" probably 100 places will come up.

I’ve only stayed at Les Ormes in Brittany on my way back to the port so I’m no help with that area. I just wanted to say that the Aires do make driving long distances very manageable. A lot of people seem to go to the Vendee in hopes of better weather than Brittany... That would be 4-5 hours depending on the site but the facilities look good in reviews I have looked at. It might be worth expanding your search to include that area?
An alternative location could be La Croix du Vieux Pont which is about 4.5 hours from the port. This is similar to Les Ormes but on a smaller scale. We had a very spacious and private pitch there. You can combine it with a day trip to Disney or Parc Asterix if your children are old enough to enjoy that?

If you mean one of Sunêlia Luxe TAOS then I've stayed in one on a different Sunelia site (Le Fief).

    They're lovely. Huge decking!

We're back in a traditional mobile this year. Definitely feels like a step down!

Feels more like an apartment than a mobile. Well designed with a very nice finish.

We stayed in Point St Giles in 2016. Those mobiles are ideally located. Central, but removed from the busyness.

Only issue we had with them last year was that the decking is very open. Impossible to block off and stop our 2 year old from going for a wander as soon as our backs were turned! We had to resort to a complex obstacle course of upturned sunloungers!

Mr. CL had a spin on the WB. Yates this weekend - said it's very nice, very snazzy! The crew from the Epsilon seem to be on it and he said that they all seemed a lot happier than normal :P Said the restaurant was very nice but only issue was with signage for the truckers lounge. No one could find it so they all ended up in the main restaurant which the staff weren't overly happy with.

Just booked 2 weeks in mid June to Carnac (La Grand Metairie).

Will be travelling from Cork to Roscoff with 2 boys (aged 4 and 6) - really looking forward to it.

We went to Wales last year on a similar expedition but wanted to push the boat out a bit this year in every sense of the word :-)

Anyway, will be lurking here and posting noob questions from time to time in the coming weeks so thanks in advance

We thinking of going through England this year and doing lego land and Harry Potter on the way, can't decide on a campsite in France though, don't want to drive more then 5hrs

Domaine Des ormes looks good but not near a beach
