Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi all,

I'm looking for pet insurance for my dog, 10 year old terrier cross. He hasn't had pet insurance before. As far as I can tell none of the companies will insure dogs over the age of 8. Anyone found an insurer that will cover an older dog on a new policy?

    Thanks.

Only if a dog has been insured up to the age of 7 then the current insurance company will continue to insure them for life. After 7 years old the owner is liable to pay for 35% of veterinary costs with insurance. I know of a friend who started up a credit union fund instead of pet insurance in case anything happened. Even €20 - 25 a month saved (average insurance monthly cost) would add up and you could get a decent loan out God forbid anything happened. My insurance company paid out over 10K for my dog in her last years so I'm glad I had something.
