Do you want the short or long answer?

I'll assume it is a yes.

Looks like it doesn't even fit him correctly tbh.

Anything under 54 minutes would be satisfactory for Dan, anything over would be a tad disappointing

He will hold his GC position . Porte and Kreuziger remain behind and he actually gains time on the others

He jumps one place moving ahead of aru

Kreuziger took a minute out of him, also looks like Mollema is going like a train...Froome may not take much out of his contenders here which sets up the latter mountain stages nicely

Quintana looks like he has thrown in the towel. Tour is effectively over, Froome is putting in a very good time.

in tears of joy here - we took 15 seconds out of Aru, GTFI!!!!

He will lose a place to porte but stays ahead of kreuziger and the rest and moves ahead of aru so will keep a top ten on GC but the other contenders are moving away from him

Quintana lost about 2 minute son Froome I reckon

Hopefully he'll be cut some kind of slack in terms of being allowed to attack later...Carlos Sastre won the tour in similar circumstances but does Dan have the legs for a long mountain solo

Completely misreading some of the earlier times. Froome will have 3 minutes plus at the end (bar Mollema). So much for the organisers hoping for a close GC going into the final week!

Is Quintana ill I wonder, he's going very badly.

Yates puts 6 seconds into Quintana

Froome two minutes quicker than Quintana.

Froome with what nearly 3 minutes on Nairo in GC now, that's got to be that now you'd think.

I know it's a broken record at this stage but it's such a shame Contador is gone. He would have crushed this stage. Tour is over as a contest besides a catastrophic incident for Froomedog.

Froome's second half of the time trial was impressive, got about 2 minutes on most of his rivals

That was a nice balanced viewpoint on the day put over by Tom Dumoulin.

Not an easy day to be happy.

astonished that dumoulin wasn't in the poll options!!!

Martin did OK, beating Aru and Purito is a positive.

    Stage Top 10:
    1 Tom Dumoulin (Ned) Giant-Alpecin 00:50:15
2 Christopher Froome (GBr) Team Sky 00:01:03
3 Nelson Oliveira (Por) Movistar Team 00:01:31
4 Jerome Coppel (Fra) IAM Cycling 00:01:35
5 Rohan Dennis (Aus) BMC Racing 00:01:45
    6 Bauke Mollema (Ned) Trek-Segafredo 00:01:54
7 Geraint Thomas (GBr) Team Sky 00:02:00
8 Ion Izagirre (Spa) MovistarTeam 00:02:02
    9 Tony Martin (Ger) Etixx-QuickStep 00:02:05
10 Steve Cummings (GBr) Dimension Data 00:02:24

Super effort by Mollema again who looks to be in the form of his life.

Worse than that only two of the options (Froome and Tony Martin) finished in the top 15 :D

Geraint Thomas surely has to look at becoming a team leader elsewhere, he could challenge Froome in the future

I agree although he has been disappointing for me at this Tour, he was monstrous last year. His rise into a GC/climber is as impressive as Froome's meteoric rise though.

Interesting battle for the podium now, you'd have to think Yates, Porte, Molema, Quintana are all in with a shout of the podium behind Froome, Porte looks the strongest to me of the bunch, if he hadn't lost big time with that unfortunate puncture he'd be much closer in the GC:

    # Rider Name (Country) Team Result
1 Christopher Froome (GBr) Team Sky 58:02:51
2 Bauke Mollema (Ned) Trek - Segafredo 0:01:47
3 Adam Yates (GBr) Orica GreenEDGE 0:02:45
4 Nairo Quintana (Col) Movistar Team 0:02:59
5 Alejandro Valverde (Spa) Movistar Team 0:03:17
6 Tejay van Garderen (USA) BMC Racing Team 0:03:19
7 Romain Bardet (Fra) AG2R La Mondiale 0:04:04
8 Richie Porte (Aus) BMC Racing Team 0:04:27
9 Daniel Martin (Irl) Etixx - Quick Step 0:05:03
10 Fabio Aru (Ita) Astana Pro Team 0:05:16

Hes an epic cheat tho. A confirmed one. So if he was at his best and did it at mach 2 I still personally wouldn't give a ****.

The next hill climb TT on Thursday should suit Dan, would have to think he'll pull back some time then

Pull back time on who though?

It should suit everyone ahead of him as well.
