Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

So I've had a look at this forum recently and it seems there's good few posters who know what they're talking about when it comes to cars. I don't so that's why I'm asking about the above.
I had a look today at 2011 BMW 3 sport for 22,500. 50,000 miles on the clock. Car in good condition and spec is same as the SE. Lovely car but am I mad
spending that money on a 5 yr old car with I think a reputation of giving trouble?
Maybe I'm answering my own question. I will probably be doing 20k a year on mixture of decent and not so decent country roads. Dealer will be giving 2 year warranty.
    Your thoughts please?

I presume you're talking about a BMW 3 Series diesel M Sport? 22,500 is very strong money for a 2011 example imo but you're paying a fair bit for the peace of mind in the 2 year BMW warranty. Really depends on how much value you put in that peace of mind. Also those engines are well documented for having timing chain problems so make sure to verify with the dealer if it has already been replaced.

Yeah that's the car and I'm thinking its a bit steep. For couple grand extra could go up to a 2012/2013 which is newer 3 series version, nicer and upgraded interior etc.
    Thanks for that
