My son did a chest work out three days ago for the first time in a few months and he has a swollen left pec which didn't go down after a while like it usually does. It's hurting him now - a constant ache.

Any idea what it could be or does it mean a doc visit? He's too embarrassed to ask in the gym. Eejit.

It could possibly be a haematoma, which is a burst blood vessel in the muscle. Don't take my word for it though, best bet is to get him to the doctor if it persists. If it is a haematoma, it will heal up relatively quickly (a week or 2) but doctor supervision would be needed IMO having had one before in my leg.

No place for embarrassment with this sort of thing, better to get it checked.
