Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi there ,

I am In a situation that I will have to buy after an accident .

I was always an avensis driver , however I see the Corolla now , I am away from the country for a few weeks , so just thinking though my options

Can anyone supply any thoughts on whether I should stick with avensis or Corolla . My worry is that the Corolla engine 1.4 diesel is not powerful enough for its body and I travel rural roads to work every morning.

My last car was an 2.0 Diesel avensis 2006

I am looking at Corolla or Avensis 2013 and above , Rav 4 might be an options as well

Any pre buying advice would be appreciated

The 1.4 diesel is fine in the Corolla as it's not a very heavy car. However naturally you will probably feel a little difference coming from a 2.0 litre. 2013 would be the change over year from the 2007 Corolla model to the current model. The current model is much better than the older one.

Have you looked at anything other than another Toyota?

The Corolla will def feel slower and smaller than your Avensis. Personally I think the post 07 Corolla is very over rated as a second hand buy,
