totally agree, too long and the quality of the ads is just as bad as eurosport

surely Quintana could at least try to attack

Quintana is just grossly overrated, he's never really put any time between himself and Froome and just seems content to sit on his wheel.

I dunno, the Tel Aviv Jerusalem ad on Eurosport has a couple of things going for it.

    Porte setting up Froome again

Great result for Zakarin. If the Russians are all banned from the Olympics he won't get a go at the road race.

And very little harm, that'd be.

Froome is just too strong, no one can live with him

He never has a teammate other than Valverde, where as Froome has 5 others and it seems at times Richie Porte doing work for him.

Froome is of course better prepared than any other year by all accounts.

    Yates back into 2nd?

why bother with those attacks on froome in the last 2km when they can barely put seconds into him never mind a minute or 2

  • Registered Users Posts: 136 ✭✭AlreadyHome

    Great stuff from Porte!

Those attacks are for podium places at this stage

Sky just too strong, makes for a poor Tour, Dan will lose a place to Aru, gain on TJ, won't gain enough on Valverde, so stays 9th, pity because he could have had a very good day today

    Amazed by Adam Yates performances

Great ride from Yates and Porte.

Felt Dan was a bit naive - seemed to have something left in the legs and if he'd just held off for when Porte split things up, you feel he might have got something solid out of the day.

Quintana and van Garderen have got nothing. Feel like it'll be back to the drawing board in terms of selection for a lot of the teams after this tour.

Cycling really needs someone to emerge to compete with Froome, he is so strong and amazing but he doesnt even have a rival to push him or test his limits

What the f*ck was that from Wout Poels? Jesus f*cking Christ.

Dan attacking from 5km out was madness. If he had just done what Yeats has done and just hung in there he'd be top 3 now. It's been his early attacks that have cost him.

Sick of all the dynasties in TDF history, Indurain was untouchable for years, then Armstrong, then a few years when it was a lottery, then the Sky dynasty with Wiggins/Froome

It's rarely a real competition. Most years 1 rider is way ahead of everyone else.

  • Registered Users Posts: 33,749 ✭✭✭✭RobertKK

It is all very predictable. No one is able to live with Froome.

I can well believe what Eurosport said a couple of years back, half watch for the cycling, the other half for the scenery.
All we have these days is scenery as we know Froome will win it.

Thing was though, back during those dynasties I seem to remember the races as being exciting. The passing years may have made that so.

Froome wasn't overly stretched today - probably saving himself for the ITT! Depressing stuff for the others I guess.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,525 ✭✭✭kilns

Armstrong had Ulrich, Contador and Schleck, Indurain had a few guys who would push him but Froome has no one to compete with
