Had completely forgotten about that. Was busy thinking about the Thames incident.

I love Bob, great memories about the song "Don't like Mondays", some kid getting to shoot the tossers in her class, ahh those where the days....

Didn't it turn out that there was some kind of legal reason he simply couldn't give them accommodation?

Which he totally didn't know anything about when he made his "generous" offer, honest.

    A world class bull****ter.

The word 'obnoxious' was created with people like Bob Geldof in mind. He's just an overly opinionated, loud-mouthed gobshíte with opinions resting on so much profound ignorance - his recent views on the Easter Rising were a travesty of historical ignorance no matter how self-righteous and touched he was in expressing them. Why RTÉ gave somebody so historically illiterate the space to rant is beyond me. Is Eoghan Harris back recruiting for RTÉ programmes?

The notion by some that because he's financially successful that his views have some merit or that he is worthy of respect in every area because of his success in one area is preposterously craven. He should stick to whatever makes him financially successful and not venture outside that narrow area of expertise.

He never said "give us your ****ing money". Ever. That's a myth. So people need to stop beating him with that stick.
    .

Not a myth, he said it on comic relief, I have it on VHS :)

Sir, you clearly have no taste whatsoever!

I remember this coming up before and iirc it is a myth, perpetuated by him saying ".. F**k the address" immediately after saying "..give us the money now"

Bob Geldof swears on Live Aid

Aaaah yes, that was it - sorry Realt, you're right. He said "Give is the money - now!" after swearing beforehand. Very aggressive though - pretty dickish, demanding money off people as if they had no option! People didn't have to contribute if they didn't want to. I agree with people's assessment of him as obnoxious but I do think criticism of Live/Band Aid (at the time, whatever about analysis of its aftermath) makes no sense. It was designed to help people, and he worked hard to make it happen. He genuinely seemed to care.

What is he now a fashion expert? Isn't that sweet coming from a man that looks as if he were dragged through a hedge backwards.

Of course he's moaning about child labour used making the clothes but they said that there weren't that many wearing that brand. Probably the first thing he could think of to moan about. Who the fcuk would pay good money to listen to that idiot?

How would Bob know what clothes primark are selling? He must shop there himself.
