there's a 500ml bottled pilsner 5% on sale in Tesco for 1.50 or so - it's brewed in Ireland in Dundalk by Pearse Lyons Brewery with a fake Czech name - Manislav - not bad though - nice and clean with that Czech taste. Ideal Summer beer.

only had a couple once - tasted fine and it was well-chilled. will try it a second time over the next while!

compared well to it's competitors in the same type and price-range I thought.

Current favorite is Splash by Vandestreek Brewing, it’s a session IPA but feels much stronger than its 4.5%, nice citrus bite to it.

I took the plunge on forking out the € 3 being demanded by Marks N Spencer for the 500ml bottle of Aspall Cider 6.8%.

Vewy tasty. I like my ciders dry and crisp. This bitch evaporates off your tongue and sthings its' way nicely down your throat. mmmmmm tres refreshing.

I can't emphasis enough the pleasure in tasting a proper dry cider. The English are good for something you know. I felt like I was in deepest Somerset devouring 3 bottles of these babies. The 6.8% gives a nice cuddly kick also.

At 1.5 litres for € 9, you will find cheaper ciders. But for me I am sick to death of drinking the plethora of schweet pish that literally swamps the Irish cider market. Please , please , please make more dry ciders, the sweet stuff is for kids.
