Gun Slip

I thought buying a gun slip would be easy.

I need to get one for a Remington 700 with 26" barrel. I have a Sidewinder 8-32x56 scope on it so it quite long and high.

I have a 48" gun slip here and it's a tight fit.

Has anyone on there travels seen a store with long gun slips

And while snug my Howa 1500 with a 24" barrel with a mod fits prefectly. I would say it would do the job

It's not about the length as much as the width/height.

I have one of those Wildhunter slips and while long they are not very roomy inside. When i put my 223 into it i have to manipulate the rifle to get the zip fully closed. I have more than enough length to have the rifle in with the mod on, but it's the width of the case that is the problem. Same thing with a couple of other cases i have.

The one soft case i have for my Remmy has more than enough room. It's a Remington soft case with double pockets. The width of the case is about 3 inches when empty. This allows enough room to cover the rifle. If whatever case you're looking at is less than an inch wide (when empty) then it won't allow for much in terms of give when trying to get a rifle into it.

My Remington has a Sidewinder on it too and i can easily fit the scopes rifle with mod on it into the case, including my bipod, and room in the pockets on either side for ammo, etc. So look for a case that has plenty of height/width and then is as long as you need it.

Was looking at this online and it seems it might do the job. Specifically states the base is 60mm wide

Slip arrived today, plenty of room and extra wide at the bottom for your bipod.

Easily fits my Remington 700 with 26" Barrel, Sidewinder 8-32x56 and the harris bipod.
