Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi Guys,

Looking to get started in working trials with my 1 year old German Shepherd, does anyone here compete in it? I am finding it very difficult to find somewhere to start training for it. I am located in North Dublin

    Cheers

Is it IPO/Schutzhund you're interested in?
What have you tried so far to get connected with training clubs?

I have tried to get involved with the GSA in Donabate as you can train for working trials there but they have a waiting list. I have been in touch with WTCI but they pointed me to another person but there training is very expensive as in 50euro for 2 hours ( which I just can't afford) , I have been doing obedience with him for about 6 months so have the basics of that done. Just looking for any other options of were to go!

Damn! I had been going to point you to GSA!
To be honest though, for specialist classes like that, 2 hours for €50 probably is about the norm :o
Anyway, hopefully someone else with more experience of IPO will come alone here and help you... in the meantime, agility and scentwork would be good classes to go to... Ciara d'Arcy of the Dog Den in Raheny does both, and without the coercion that all-too-many trainers use.
