Wedding Cake

Do you really need wedding cake? My OH and myself never eat it at weddings - but we don't want to cut corners if it's something our guests will miss. Opinions on wedding cakes please :)

We had cupcakes, cake pops and a single tier of fruit cake. The older generation appreciated the fruit cake, the cake pops were a magnet for kids that had sneaked up from communions in another part of the hotel!

I love cake, we had a fab tasting set of 3 from a local bakery. White choc and raspberry tart, lemon tart and a chocolate cake. On three stands, no fancy decorations. Took the photo before eating and served them with fruit and icecream as dessert.
