Cancelled iui

Hi I was on my second iui cycle and it got cancelled due to a possible 3 rd follicle. Has this happened to anyone else? Did anyone go ahead and trigger anyway. Nurse told me lining was really thick so should expect AF in next few days but still no sign!!
