Parking on the Dyke Road

Hey all,

I'm heading to Dublin tomorrow and planning to park on the Dyke Rd car park for the day. I won't be back again on the bus until after midnight.

Is it okay/safe to park up there in the morning and drive off again after midnight? I don't think there are any barriers to block me in, right?

Yep, should be fine, just ensure you pay & display to 6:30pm.

I used to park in the cathedral car park all day when off to Dublin. I just made sure it was under a light. Nowadays I think it s 4 euro for the day.

You could park a bit closer to where the bus would drop you off, here http://www.q-park.ie/parking-with-q-park/our-parking-facilities/galway/railway-/-radisson-car-park. It’s €12 for 24 hours if you pre-book online but you can get it for €9 if you enter the code todayfm.

I used that in May and it was very handy. I would not have been comfortable walking any further at that time in the morning myself so it was worth the extra money. Just make sure you go to customer service first to get it swiped for exit.

Just a follow up - ended up parking on the Dyke Road. Super convenient and practically a straight five minute walk to the Citylink bus station.
