Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Planning on taking the ferry to Holyhead and staying in Greenacres campsite in September. We have a 2.5 year old and a 4 month old. Figured it would be less strestful than flying somewhere. Would welcome advice from anyone who is familiar with North Wales / Snowdonia area.

    Thanks

We stayed at Greenacres during July 2016.

Four nights, paid 360 GBP. We didn't go for the basic mobile home, went for one 14ft wide, rather than 12ft.

I was impressed with the mobile home, modern, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, en-suite, TV, DVD player, etc.

Greenacres is near the beach, at the end of a small village called Morcha Byfan.

The village has a shop with PO inside, a takeaway, a pub and a golf club.

The park is 4-5km from the town of Porthmadog. There is an Aldi, Lidl and Tesco in the town.

The drive from Holyhead to Greenacres was fine, 1h 15 approx.

If you need to visit a supermarket on the way, the route passes a Tesco in Caernarfon, just south of the town.

That route also passes the Tesco in Porthmadog, open until 11pm, I think.

Great. Thanks Geuze. What is the caravan park itself like? Did ye stay around there during the day or head out to other towns and villages in the area?

Park is maybe 1 km by 1km, mix of owned and rented mobile homes.

You can drive to, and park beside, every mobile home.

At the end of the park there is a path over dunes to the beach.

There is one main building, containing:

    mobile home sales office
    reception
    takeaway/chipper
    shop with ATM

Past these, you are meant to show your pass to gain access to:

    small indoor play frame
    arcade/slots
    pub/restaurant
    swimming pool
    lounge/dancehall
    outside crazy golf
    outside splash zone

It's not a large building, and I think there would be more facilities in other larger Haven parks.

There is open wifi around the pub/restaurant.

    We didn't visit the pub/restaurant/lounge.
