I am looking at flights to NYC for Jun 2017 on skyscanner.

I see flights (a good deal) by air france and klm but operated by delta?

what does this mean in reality?
flight times, etc are the same so it must be a flightshare arrangement?

I wonder why you are so concerned? It is probably a codeshare arrangement.

Get the best price, buy the tickets, turn up at the relevant airport and GO!

    It's a codeshare, that's all.

It means exactly that: you'll be flying Delta.

you MIGHT not be able to pre-book seats if you book on the KLM/Air France website if the flights are on Delta metal.

You can prebook seats on Delta.com for a codeshare.

Air France are selling seats on a Delta plane, or Delta are selling seats on an Air France plane......Delta will provide the connecting flights on their domestic fleet for Air France customers.....it's very common on international flights.
