But when you factor in the creation of the universe, the formation of the stars with planets, the fact that the Earth is in a unique position in space to sustain life, the basic building blocks of life leading to life starting, the unlikely and never repeated joining together of two forms of life leading to the Cambian explosion, the way life has evolved into millions of different types, plus the way we have developed as a species to a technological stage with consciousness, how can anyone deny the possibility of a master designer of everything?

Interesting conversation with my younger brother one day and this came up, he says that the Big Bang idea is arse as everything just can't come from essentially nothing, what was there before, and who started the Big Bang ??

His idea is the Big Bang is just the physical representation of creationism actually happening. He's not religious, but he says that something had to start it all and that may as well be God as is going round believing it just happened for no good reason - prove it wasn't god that started everything was his last statement??

It's not a bad bit of thinking, really. It's about the only way I can reconcile the two if I feel the need to. This all happened according to the laws of science, was there something that created these laws that the development of the universe eventually followed?

That's the sort of question that science can't answer and won't answer, because it's not something that answers questions of faith, just of observation.

Probably hence the term "blind faith".
