    Hi all,

Just have a quick query in relation to the process of progressing from a higher diploma to a masters degree. Long story short I did a Bcomm degree and will likely finish up with either a 2.2 or a third. I didn't like it much but decided to stick it out out of sheer stubbornness. The only modules I ever really enjoyed were the IS ones so I looked into postgrads and found the Applied Computing Technology one which as far as I'm aware has no required result to do which suits me as its full of content I would enjoy. There are also masters degrees I would like to do such as the ISBP one but the requirement is a 2.2 primary degree. What I'd like to know is that if I were to achieve a good grade such as a 2.1 in the Hdip of applied computing technology would that open the door to masters degrees such as the one mentioned above despite my less than satisfactory results in the Bcomm? I would really appreciate it if anyone could help me on this.

    Thanks.

A poor result can be overcome with a further course, as you've suggested, and/or extra experience that is relevant. If you show enough dedication to your field, you have a better chance of being considered despite a primary degree with a 2.2 or third.
