Maybe try paying with a different card. I have been lucky enough to avail of most of them. If at first you don't succeed n all that!

I tried with paypal too and that failed as well.

Being honest I can't see why they reject my card when every other online retailer accepts it no bother.

    Beyond frustrating it is. :(

When you used PayPal, is your PayPal account associated with the same card that failed? If it is, it might be worth talking to your card company about the issue?

    No it isn't all all.

Will actually ring the bank 2m and see if they can tell me why it is being rejected by boots.ie

People like him are actual scum and the reason sales go to ****, greedy as actual f**k. Love it if stores were more pro-active in policing this BS.

Was your order placed before or after midday? If after midday it normally takes 2 days I think.

Is there like a customer service spot in store for pickup or do you just go to the sales counter?

Placed it before midday but when I click the link in my orders to track the order I get no tracking info.

I called to the shop the day mine was due for collection, and it was there despite not having received confirmation - I actually got the notification it had arrived while on the way home..

My favorite BA in a while. Got 2 as Christmas presents and they look really expensive too. Thrilled.

Like you UsedToWait, I went in on Spec as today was the collection date and my order was there. Great deal & good size (Got 2). Happy days.

I asked about not getting the collection txt or email & they told me it's totally controlled by their .ie site and there is a known issue with it. They said I will eventually get the msg but it could be anywhere from 24 to 48 hours after the shop receives the package. They said for future orders you should come on the appointed day or even ring the store beforehand & they will be able to confirm from the order number.

My order for a bottle of Lacoste was placed on Thursday at 6.30
I got the email immediately to confirm the order. Heard nothing since.
I chanced my arm today and rang the store to see if it had been delivered and it had.
Just collected it there, not the nicest in the Lacoste range, very citrusey, handy to add to the collection for a total of €9 including delivery charges to the store.

I'd agree if someone was buying to sell on for a quick buck. Can't blame someone for sorting out Xmas presents though.

I picked up my 2 items today, the armani set and the lacoste, thanks again to the original poster.

Ha, was told it be in store today, no email, then got one plus an sms about closing time telling me it's ready for collection !!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 103 ✭✭Orchid

I also picked up my box today. I was too late for the really good deals like Lacoste and Armani, etc. but I am very happy with the Sanctuary mini sets. The boxes are nice small size but not miniature and will make lovely stocking fillers for my friends. I bought 4. I also bough the James Bond set which looks really good for 6.50. I bought it for a friend but I am loving the smell so I am thinking of keeping it now or ordering another one.

I also came across this one which is on a good price, possibly wrong

It's much dearer on the UK site.

    https://www.boots.com/en/BOSS-Femme-Eau-de-Parfum-75ml_29989/

I used to wear it a few years ago and for some reason I hate the smell of it now but it could be a bargain for someone.

The UK site is running a similar sale unfortunately all the best things are sold out. I bought 2 of these using parcel motel as Xmas presents http://www.boots.com/en/Sanctuary-With-Love-Gift_1795358/

The girlfriend says it's pretty good value, not amazing but I'm happy enough. Have the SIL and MIL sorted now too.

3 or 4 bottles of each hardly constitutes wrecking it for everybody. You're probably just pissed that you were late to the party, no?

The only thing that annoys me is the size of the picture.

I agree that 3- 4 bottles on a deal are reasonable, even 5-6 when you are buying Christmas presents. But I agree that there are people who make business out of it who are ruining it for the rest of us. We have friends, a Polish couple , who scan the websites like this one looking for wrong prices and big reductions and buy all the stock they can buy. Their rule of thumb is reduced by 70- 75% or more. They stuff their van completely when they are going to Poland for the summer and sell it on their version of EBay. They have told us that they make enough to cover the holiday and have money left. While I appreciate people who are resourceful like that I wish shops limited the number of items you can buy when on huge reduction so that more people can enjoy them.
