Raw is in the record books for another week and that means it's time to check out our scores for the show, plus see what it means for our league table as we look ahead to Smackdown.

Read on for the latest news...

*Note - Raw spoilers below. Do not read further if you do not want news of Raw.*

    Monday Night Raw scores

    Raw Fallout

The highest score for Raw this week goes to beakerjoe, with wins for Seth Rollins, Bayley, Braun Strowman, and an appearance for Big Cass securing the points. The second highest score goes to Cheese Wagstaff, who also benefitted from wins by Rollins, Bayley and Strowman.

The average score for Raw this week was 8 points.

And now to see what that means for our league...

    Gameweek 5 Standings (Post-Raw)

    2. Cheese Wagstaff............................................................112 points

    3. paulie21.......................................................................109 points

    10. Kankan14....................................................................76 points

    11. Gaw_..........................................................................52 points

    League Fallout

The league leader, DM_7, has extended his lead a little from last week and his lead is now a margin of 6 points.

There are exciting developments just below as last year's champion, Cheese Wagstaff, sees his recent good form take him up to second place.

Other movement sees beakerjoe go ahead of me for sixth place and level with LeeJM.

    Raw results

    Bayley defeated Charlotte.

    Bo Dallas defeated Kyle Roberts.

    Seth Rollins defeated Chris Jericho.

    Sheamus defeated Cesaro.

The Shining Stars defeated Enzo and Big Cass.

    Nia Jax defeated Ann Esposito.

    Darren Young defeated Jinder Mahal.

    Braun Strowman defeated Sin Cara.

    Kevin Owens defeated Sami Zayn.

This show suggested there could be some good options available in future for the Lower Tier section as Bo Dallas, as well as Primo and Epico, picked up wins. Will you be considering them for next week?

The most popular picks for each tier going into this week were AJ Styles for the Main Event Tier (7), Braun Strowman for the Upper Tier (5), and Heath Slater for the Lower Tier (8).

The game may be under way but new players are always welcome. Places for the Cup are now closed but we will still accept players for the league. To sign up simply select a squad from the roster and you're in.

That concludes the Raw update. Over we go to Smackdown, which should be particularly interesting with 11 of the 12 players having selected a Smackdown performer as their captain.

The go-home show for Backlash, Smackdown Live, is in the books and that means we have reached the end of another week. We are already 1/4 of the way through the game already, believe it or not.

It is time for us now to see who got the biggest score for Smackdown, and observe what it means for our league table. I will also highlight the upcoming fixtures for the Fantasy Cup which returns next week, plus I will reveal the Backlash Bonus that will be available for players at the PPV. A lot to get through, so let's waste no more time...

*Note - Smackdown Live spoilers below. Do not read further if you do not want news of Smackdown.*

    Smackdown Fallout

The highest score for Smackdown this week goes to Cheese Wagstaff, with wins for his captain Chad Gable, Jason Jordan, and Heath Slater getting him the big score.

It caps off a stellar week for Cheese Wagstaff with every member of his team, except for Dean Ambrose, picking up wins.

The second highest score is shared between Gaw_, myself and paulie21.

The average score for Smackdown was 13 points.

And here is where it leaves the current standings at the end of Week 5...

    Gameweek 5 Standings

    1. Cheese Wagstaff............................................................133 points

    2. DM_7..........................................................................130 points

    11. Gaw_...........................................................................69 points

    League Fallout

He's baaaaacccckk. In what will be a familar sight for those who played the game last year, the reigning champion, Cheese Wagstaff, has climbed to the top of the pile on the back of his great week, although the margin is pretty tight.

Other movement sees me joining beakerjoe in sixth place, whilst there is interesting development in the Deletion Zone as Kankan14 moves ahead of WinnyThePoo; Gaw_ meanwhile, who joined the game late remember, has done well to narrow the gap ahead of him to 16 points.

    Smackdown Live results

    The Miz defeated Apollo Crews.

Natalya, Alexa Bliss and Carmella defeated Becky Lynch, Nikki Bella and Naomi.

    American Alpha defeated The Usos.

Heath Slater and Rhyno defeated The Hype Bros.

    170px-The_Miz_as_Intercontinental_champion_along_Maryse_Raw_April_2016.jpg

The Miz has been on the up of late but no player has him in their line-up. Is it time to consider him?

On to Gameweek #6 (Cup and PPV Week)

    220px-1928_Sam_Maguire_cup%2C_GAA_museum.jpg

Yes, it's time for the second round of Cup matches . If you want a reminder of what the groups look like at the moment, see here.

Here is what's in store for next week...
    Gameweek #6 Cup Ties

    Group A

    Gaw_ vs paulie21
    LeeJM vs Mr.Nice Guy

    Group B

DM_7 vs A Brad Maddox Guy
    daithi1989 vs Kankan14

    Group C

    Cheese Wagstaff vs Bounty Hunter
    WinnyThePoo vs beakerjoe

This round will tell us a lot about which players are looking good to qualify, and which ones are staring at an early exit. It should be an exciting week, especially with a PPV thrown in. Speaking of which...

    *****Backlash Bonus Pts*****

    220px-Backlash_2016_Poster.jpg

As is now tradition, as it's a PPV there will be some bonus points on offer. This bonus, however, will be optional - players won't have to take it up if they don't want to. You'll see why in a moment.

The bonus is this: Predict the winner of the inaugural Smackdown Women's Title match.

If you correctly predict the winner, you will get 5 points...

    BUT (And here's the catch...)

If you are wrong in your prediction, then you will LOSE 5 points.

With this week also being a Cup week, you therefore have to decide whether you want to take this gamble on. Those 5 bonus points, if you get them, could be what helps you win your tie; but on the other hand, if you are wrong in your prediction, then you could wind up costing yourself the tie.

As noted, the bonus is optional. If you don't want to take part in the bonus, simply write 'no bonus', or else just leave it blank and I'll take that as a sign you're not going for it.

It brings a tactical dimension to things. Will you take the risk or not? It's up to you to decide.

    Deadline

As it's a PPV week, the deadline will be before the first pre-show match of Backlash on Sunday, September 11th.

    Transfers and Captaincy

You can make up to 2 transfers to your squad if you wish. These must be from the same tier. For example, a Main Event Tier performer for a Main Event Tier performer; an Upper Tier performer for an Upper Tier performer.

Please outline who you are transferring out and transferring in when posting your squads to make it easier for me to follow.

And don't forget to choose a captain who will score you double points.

    Want to join in?

The game may be under way but new players are always welcome. Places for the Cup are now closed but we will still accept players for the league. To sign up simply select a squad from the roster here and you're in.

Good luck for the week ahead folks which should be pretty exciting with three shows to play for. Gameweek #6 is now open for business.

Is it possible to still make a transfer before the deadline or are they set when you post?

The general practice has been once the transfers have been made, that's it.

I should make that clearer though in future.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 18,359 Mod ✭✭✭✭DM_7

Always thought the deadline meant no edits rather than no edits before the deadline.

I changed my inititial miz transfer in to cesaro in. That can be reversed if edits are not good practice.

Well my problem is I brought Orton in and captained him now he's not cleared. If its the rule then it's alright

It's my fault for not making it clearer.

I'll allow you to transfer Orton out seeing as I never specified that this couldn't be done.

I'll bring in Bray Wyatt for Randy Orton and put captaincy on him

That's fine for this week since I never specified the situation. (My bad)

Going forward, as far as future gameweeks go, I'll put the question to the players:

Would you prefer to be able to edit your transfers right up to the deadline, or would you prefer that once your line-up for the week has been posted, there can be no changes?

I personally would prefer that after this week, once transfers have been made they can't be amended, just because I think that makes things more challenging. But I'm open to the other way if it has majority support.

Sorry, just spotted this now - you've brought in Jey Uso as an Upper Tier pick but he's actually a Lower Tier pick. An Upper Tier pick has to be replaced by another Upper Tier pick.

I'll let you change it if you do so within the next 25 minutes otherwise I'll have to declare that transfer void and you'll be left with Big Cass for the week.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 394 ✭✭Gaw_

I feel like you should be able to change your picks up until the deadline. Otherwise, why post your picks early at all? It puts you at an inherent disadvantage. Especially with the amount of injuries recently. If you want to force people to post their picks earlier such as wed or fri, then you could give the unwavering people a couple bonus points. A precedent has now been set, and should remain in place until the next season in my opinion.

Backlash is under way and the deadline for the week is well and truly up (phew). Here are the main trends going into this week.

    Popular Trends - G.W. 6

Most popular Main Event Tier picks

    1. AJ Styles 9

    2. Dean Ambrose 4

    = Roman Reigns 4

    = Seth Rollins 4

    Most popular Upper Tier picks

    1. Cesaro 7

    = The Miz 7

    2. Braun Strowman 4

    Most popular Lower Tier picks

    1. Jimmy Uso 5

    = Heath Slater 5

    2. Jey Uso 2

As regards the bonus points, 9 players have decided to take the gamble. Of these 9 predictions, 5 of you have gone for Becky Lynch, 2 of you for Nikki Bella, and Carmella and Natalya have a vote each.

So we're guaranteed to see some players lose points, but which ones?

Sorry, just spotted this now - you've brought in Jey Uso as an Upper Tier pick but he's actually a Lower Tier pick. An Upper Tier pick has to be replaced by another Upper Tier pick.

I'll let you change it if you do so within the next 25 minutes otherwise I'll have to declare that transfer void and you'll be left with Big Cass for the week.

As there was no change, Big Cass remains in your squad. Hope that doesn't make things difficult for you this week, daithi.

Your situation was further complicated by the fact you also stuck the captaincy on Jey Uso - who is ineligible - so by default I've stuck the captaincy back on the guy you had it on last week, which was Heath Slater. Hope that's fair enough.
