Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Not sure if this is the right forum to look for advice on this, but will try anyway.
I have just discovered that some jewellery that I bought while abroad about ten years ago is not what it seems. Instead of being 24 carat white gold, it is 24 carat white gold plated and instead of being white sapphires the stones are in fact cz. This is annoying and I would be interested to know if anybody knows how I could go about selling this. I know it is worth a lot less than I paid for it but it must still be worth something? Would I have to sell it as costume jewellery? Where could I sell something like this?Any suggestions (without mentioning how stupid I am lol) would be much appreciated.

Get it valued in a jewellers shop. The guys in the Cash for Gold places tend to have a good idea of how much you could expect to make from selling a piece.
I've sold jewellery on adverts.ie and while it was a pain in the bum to get all the usual 'swap for my ads', offers well below asking price etc I sold everything and got at least the minimum asking price I wanted for every piece. Take lots of pictures in good lighting on a white background (a sheet or even a couple of pieces of paper) to show the jewellery to its best potential. Take zoomed in photos of any hallmarks too.
Re the 24 carat white gold thing, I'm open to correction but I don't think that exists. As far as I'm aware the 'purest' white gold is 18 carat, and it doesn't even look like you'd expect white gold to, it has quite a yellow hue. 24 carat yellow gold is used for plating costume jewellery alright, but I haven't heard of white gold of that grade being used in that way. So be prepared to find out that your pieces are actually a lower grade again than what you thought.
Good luck with it, I hope you make back some of what you paid for it and I hope you enjoyed wearing it in the meantime!

Yep, try adverts.ie, it is a good platform for selling items.
